Looking forward to this show; a particularly good selection of layouts.

I note Chris Roberts is there. He has some strange power which leads me to part with vast sums of money...

P.S. small typo; I will be bringing along Kanjiyama to the show!

There will be at least two of us from the north west, making the trek down.

We used to attend the 'old' show at Sutton Coldfield regularly but I believe before the show moved to Sutton, it started off in Didcot/Oxfordshire?

Looking forward to it anyway!

Cheers,

John.

See Hochstadt has now made it to the top of the list  .

Suppose I'll have to dig out my passport as this is going to involve a trip involving crossing the M25 into the inner suburbs and then circumnavigating the M25 and venturing out west into pastures unknown.....

As far as the show was concerned, I had great day. I also shifted a lot of stuff on the s/hand stand that paid much more than the loco I bought :-) It was a good range of layouts and traders so would be happy to go again. Pity no Kadees on sale though.

The only downside was the #%*~+%#} moron who walked into the sector plate and snapped off the locating tube. Needs to be fixed soon as it will out at Bridlington show this Saturday. Grrrrrrrr!

A great day was had, with a good selection of layouts and trade. Mr A&H models received two locos for DCC treatment, including a very pretty Fleischmann DB class 13 4-4-0 - ideal for Friedrichstrasse. A couple of H0 carriages were added to the Uberernst roster as well.

Happy that Kanjiyama performed faultlessly. I did note that the hall was cooler and less humid than many others (as well as less crowded), and that I believe contributed to the performance.

As is my wont, I wandered around the show with my camera for the benefit of those unfortunate enough not to be able to attend!

Thank you to the organisers for what I felt was a very successful show.

Glad yours worked fine, Claude, I was about to throw South Bohemia out of the window in the morning! It worked just great at Ludlow and Derby but had a hissy fit in the morning... One or two things I need to change before August and a couple of things I need to double check when I set up to avoid a repeat performance! Grrr!

See you took the "long view" in the photo!

It looked like your issues sorted out over the course of the day. I understand the problems, there are some days things just won't behave! Kanjiyama more often than not is fine at the beginning, but over the show points start playing up and regular scrubbing of track needs to be carried out.

Despite your initial issues, the 'Kanji-crew' were all impressed with your layout, and I hope the picture I posted does it some justice.

Thanks, Claude, yes things calmed down late morning, we have a couple of ideas about what cause some of the issues, one of the trestles had slipped off the support in the top corner which we reckon was responsible for most of the ills, but it was such a contrast to Ludlow that I couldn't believe what was happening! Here's the opposite view to yours, I'm afraid I didn't take any photos of other layouts...
