Zomboid
Maybe the point was to get the 90 further north, rather than anything to do with the 92? It is a first ScotRail paint job at least.

Donington Road
The old Cock Lane footbridge is being demolished and the new one partially built. The new one should open next Monday 14th October. Cannot see that happening, a lot more steelwork to do and nothing on site as yet, especially the long ramps. 7
RMweb Premium Richard E Posted October 9, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 9, 2019 I've been over today. On the eastern side of the ECML the old footbridge ramp has gone completely. Just the bridge itself still there. I didn't bother with the western site as there is very poor access for pictures at present. Grabbed a few pictures as well; Firstly the line of the new tracks to the east of Lincoln Road looking towards the eventual junction with the GN line which is just to the right of the wire and post fence on the right hand side of the picture. Whilst I was there an LNER liveried HST was just visible waiting to run into Peterborough. This was down to the problems near Newark today and the diversionary route via Gainsborough and Spalding being used. The bank bordered by the A15, the new line, the GN line and Lincoln Road is being dug out. Just caught a 66 passing the HST in this one. And a Bailey Bridge has been built to take foot traffic when the new Lincoln Road bridge is built. I'm pleased with this shot as I had the camera balanced on top of a 6' spear fence above head height, this was the first attempt! The new cutting is looking a bit damp too. And, as said elsewhere, I wonder what they are going to do with all the spoil, you can see how big a 'hill' has appeared in this picture. At this point I gave up as I was getting rather wet. 5 1
John Tomlinson
I did wonder when this started what exactly was being done to justify the £200million price tag. I guess the answer is slowly being explained in your pictures, for which many thanks! John.

I was down at Foxcovert footbridge for a couple of hours this afternoon, all I saw of the planned diversion was the Splading bogcart come and go and a 66 going towards Peterborough. There is the same diversion next Wednesday 16th as well. The new junction will be about where the colour light signal is. You can see the back of it top left in your photo. I see you have been up on the A15 road bridge to see the start of that big hole, too scary for me. I got one of the employees to photograph it yesterday for me. He was saying that the bigger hole they are presently digging out beyond what you photographed is much deeper in water, that is the one where all the spoil is coming out of at the moment. The photo below was taken 10 days ago so you can see what's come out compared to today. Dumper coming out of that second hole. New Cock Lane footbridge from afar, looks impressive compared to the old one. 5

RMweb Premium Richard E Posted October 10, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 10, 2019 I spoke to an old chap whose friend used to live in the house that has gone. He said that his friend had been well looked after but he had lost a lot of memories as he had lived in the house for very many years.
Donington Road
Latest development at Hurn Road. A new temporary footpath is being constructed from the old Lincoln Road bridge, from where the red barrier is on the left towards the red excavator then passing under the left hand arch next to the existing railway, emerging the other side to re-join Hurn Road. Should make an interesting spot for some railway photos. 7

Donington Road
The west side ramps and footsteps of Cock Lane footbridge have been installed today. The east side is scheduled for tomorrow. Adjoining footpaths and fencing to be done this week ready for the grand opening on 28th October. The height of the side plating looks to be about 1.75 - 1.80metres (nearly 6ft) judging by position of the white hats of those working on it. Think most people will need a small box/step to see over it. 7
RMweb Premium jamie92208 Posted October 19, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 19, 2019 I think that 6' high side walls are now standard on bridges that cross live 25Kv overhead. Nice to see the pictures. Jamie 2
Donington Road
East side partly done today. The small video has had the sound removed in most of it to delete the constant hammering and some profanity when things didn't quite fit. 6

I did ask the supervisor who said the crane is not allowed to slew beyond the alignment of the bridege end and cranes don't fall backwards, do they On the west side the pylons with 132kw, power was switched off on the left hand lines yesterday because the crane was operating very close to them. Here is an interesting read about the design. cock lane footbridge design.pdf The west side has a substantial plinth to support the bridge because the Stamford line will pass very close once it in the new alignment. The support should withstand any derailment hitting it and demolishing the integrity of the bridge. The east side support is just steelwork and is deemed far enough away to avoid any collision damage. Well, it isn't that far away from the up slow IMO to escape damage in the event of a derailment.
