ooer wasn't expecting to see that symbol on that signal.

And what does it mean?

EDIT Railcam UK will need to change their diagram, they have it as P490

It would be interesting if Railcam UK could add a couple of their webcams to the dive under at some point...

P490 is after the dive under on the southern ramp.

Indicates it's a distant signal doesn't it?

How does that work these days? e.g. does it have it's own block?

And does that mean it only has Yellow & Green aspects?

Ok so what does the symbol mean and why were you not expecting it?

It means it is a distant signal not able to show a red aspect.

And thus only one up train will be on the diveunder at a time. If it showed a red you could probably let in a second train though I suspect most of the liners that will go that way won’t clear the overlap.

Presumably so the driver knows he can keep the gas on to clear the incline more easily, knowing he wont have to stop.

Not necessarily,  if it is showing yellow and P490 at Cock Lane is showing red then he will come to a stop half way UP the incline.

Maybe they need a spur at Glinton Junction to stable a banker just in case there is difficulty restarting on the incline. :jester:

Send the up pass via the dive under and the freights on the flat. Don't need bankers then.

But they then have to stop while the Azooooma goes past before they can cross to the March Line

Does anyone know what is happening to the dive-under this weekend? Is there a particular bridge that will have interesting views?  I plan to cycle around the Werrington Junction area with my camera.

The new dive under Up Line signal at Cock Lane.  Note the hollow sleeper opposite on the Down Line for cables to pass through.

The new concrete base for the spillway from Marholm Brook into Brook Drain.

These next three photos have been extracted from video.

A handful from me taken yesterday.

At Cock Lane work is ongoing on the spillway.

Top soil is now in place almost all the way down to the spillway.

IMG-0091.jpg

And at Lincoln Road the gate is in place.

And another post is due to go in by the look of things.

IMG-0094.jpg

On the A15 there are now solid plate sides fitted to the roadway where it crosses the rail line.

There is still some ballasting to do here as well as alignment and tamping. I believe this may well be done this weekend according to the timetable that Donington Road posted about 5 or 6 pages back.

Work seems to still be going on around the portal to the east of the ECML.

IMG-0615.jpg

And I spotted the hollow sleeper for cabling as well. Note the concrete sleeper that has been removed to make way for the hollow one.

More video grabs of work at Lincoln Road.

The spoil is gradually being removed.

That is one mean excavator, a couple of bucket loads and the lorry is on its way.

Auxillary equipment arriving at Lincoln Road for the weekends work.  Looks like rail brushes.

Plenty of work planned for this weekend and cooler weather to ride around it too...

As Crun said not much to see, then Richard showed up without his camera which really confirmed the story.

Not to be beaten, a couple of photos from Lincoln Road.

The rail sweeper presumably parked up waiting for overnight work or next weekend.
