Dan Griffin
I have recently relaid my layout with brand new peco electrofrog points. Upon testing the layiut i have found a couple of derailment issues. Further investigation i found that the switch blade on two of the points are higher than the stock rail, by about a mm. This was causing wheels to ride up and derail. The points are laid on a flat baseboard and there are no issues with any other new points. Not qood build quality on brand new points. ThaneofFife
sounds faulty so as brand new i would speak to the retailer.
Alcanman
I've also noticed this problem although it affected only 1 point and I've bought several over the last few years. I found it possible to push the switch blade down and it clicked into place. However, it soon returned to it's original position. I first noticed the problem when stock lurched upwards passing through the point, luckily no derailments occured. I've since bought 3 more (all medium radius electrofrog) and they are all fine. RJD
I've returned a couple of turnouts to Peco over the years and they have repaired them, no cost. Great service and I live in the US.
RMweb Gold RFS Posted May 22, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 22, 2016 Same here when I tried to re-use several double-slips purchased many years ago. Peco repaired all of them with new blades and tie-bars free of charge.
