Lovely scenes and great video Paul. Canal Side deserves a bit more screen time though, even if it's a diorama :) Ever thought of extending it and making it operational?

Thank You Mikkel. Extending Canal Side is definitely something I want to do at some point.

On City Goods, could you please advise whether the very low relief background buildings are scratch built or proprietary.  Thanks.

Hi noctilux2, they are scratch built using wills brick sheets.

hi Howl03,

firstly, I’m glad this post is a a well deserved resurrection of this thread. Stunning modelling.

Secondly, the Smiths 3-links you’ve added to the Peckett above: how easy to do was that? Want to do that to mine but concerned about doing it to a £100 loco.

Thank you, It's not the easiest loco to fit. Had to cut the tail right down then just super clued in place. It is strong enough for my needs and it does look a lot better than standard tension hooks.

I thought it was about time for me to do an update on this Topic I have had both City Goods and Rural Goods out of storage and have done a bit of updating to them both. I will start with City Goods. City Goods was about the third micro layout that I built and was designed to fit in a really useful wrapping paper storage box.

A very simple layout with one point. So I decided to add some scenic work to the fiddle yard and have a small extension on a separate board.

With the fiddle yard attached it gives the layout more operational potential and the main section can still be stored safely in its box. More photo’s below.

Good to see photos again of your layouts Paul. They are really inspiring. Hopefully some of the links to your you tube videos will reappear too.

Thank you John. Its funny you should mention that about You Tube, About a year ago I had a complete detox from social media and closed my account on there. it was also one of the reasons I stopped posting on here for so long.

The good news is I have started my You tube channel again. So will slowly upload all my old videos and reinstate them on here, if I can work out where they all go. have uploaded 4 videos so far link below to my channel I currently have no subscribers.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKS8xTqS0nusGNDp8C6x7UA

thanks for looking regards Paul.

Hi Paul, it's good to see this thread active again. I've just spent some peaceful moments watching your Sentinel shunt on Rural Goods, a nice way to start the day!

So time for the Rural Goods update. One major change I added a small fiddle yard to the left hand side. Just a short bit of wood with a single piece of track it now makes the small halt a through station and also means the head shunt for the goods shed can fit a small loco and three wagons. This definitely adds a bit more operational interest. The only over thing i did was go over the static grass. A few photos below thanks for looking. Regards Paul.
