RMweb Premium Neil Posted December 31, 2020 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted December 31, 2020 (edited) Thanks to Paul I can now say with some certainty that Shell Island had its debut at Microdiesel, followed by appearances at Thirsk, the Corris Railway's Show at Machynlleth and the opening of the Titfield Thunderbolt bookshop in Bath. Was the clue in the name of the Show, perhaps? 'Shell Island' was the inspiration for my O Scale layout 'Withyn Reach' although it looks nothing like it & utterly failed to get the same spacious look - the inspiration was more the simple track plan and the operating potential afforded by B.R. & a Private Railway exchanging trains. 1
