RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted July 25, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 25, 2019 (edited) I was looking for a suitable location for this photo, which I took from a passing train and came across this dormant thread. As it has no railway content it can be classified as boring. It shows the foundations of one side of a new road overbridge, which will cross the Seaford branch line just east of Newhaven Harbour. There is currently a level crossing, which gives access to the East Quay's scrap metal wharf and various industrial units. The port authority are planning to increase the port facilities and add more industrial units, but as one can see from on-line maps* there isn't a huge area to develop, The majority of the green areas to the east of the existing industrial development are not to be built on, if my understanding of the plans is correct. Given that the service is only half hourly in both directions, it seems strange to be going to the expense of a new road bridge, but heigh-ho what do I know? * https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.7849148,0.0624563,1681m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en Edited July 25, 2019 by phil_sutters
