And the final PDF of the June Athearn announcements got posted

RTR - Bombardier Bi-Level Commuter Cars - Metrolink (standard / 3-pack-Bikes-standard-StayAlertStayAlive), Utah Frontrunner, Montreal, Altamont (Commuter Express / Corridor Express), GO Transit (original / modern)

http://www.athearn.com/newsletter/052920/05_RTR_Bombardier_052920.pdf

Any idea why the Go Transit are more expensive? Seems like an odd difference, unless there's a difference in tooling I can't see?

Not aware of any official explanation, but this week's Athearn Live was cancelled so the rest of the June announcements haven't been discussed yet (on Friday they only covered the GP15 and P40/42).

My guess is licensing fees - Metrolinx (provincial organization that runs GO Transit) now requires licensing to use their trademarks on models, and I know Rapido delayed the announcement of the F59PH by about a year because of trouble getting a license.

Covered on today's Athearn Live - Metrolinx is charging a royalty/license fee that is significant enough that Athearn needs to charge the higher pricing.

Also noted that the negotiations are still ongoing with Metrolinx so the cars are tentative, and if they do end up being produced Athearn will  work with Rapido to try and match their paint colours to what Rapido is doing for the F59PH.

Thank you - that is quite disappointing given the likely volume, and thus revenue, from those fees. The only real exposure I've had to brand standards we were far more focused on quality assurance (eg. that the branding was applied correctly and was representative) than on squeezing a few more cents out of a sunk cost.
