Rapido price cut on the GO Transit F59PH models.

When announced the price was higher than other versions as the license agreement with the owner of the GO trademarks hadn't been completed.

As that is close to being done, Rapido has announced a new lower price for the GO Transit versions of $225 (DC) /$335 (DCC/Sound) [same price as the other paint schemes announced at Christmas]

Also next week are 2 important order deadlines:

The Amtrak Turboliner - the conditional announcement is struggling with only around 50% of the required orders.  They are still hopeful given that a lot of orders don't arrive until the last day, but anyone who wants to see this model done shouldn't wait

The deadline for the second release of the NH 8600 coaches is also next week, and they go into production right after the deadline

While it isn't what those of us trying to be accurate want, there is a market for them amongst the 80% or more in this hobby that are just having fun with trains.  Those "foobies" (which many manufacturers do) help to cover the costs of making some of the more niche models that likely wouldn't get made otherwise.

Some nice-looking  stuff coming out but most of it is far too modern for me. I like the look of the Genesis GP 7 but that price is well out of my range.

The E&N boxcar is one for Chris Leigh!

Hand made turnouts assembled and sold.

Found on YouTube, guy has a business (Superior Model Railroads) designing and building layouts and is now branching out into building turnouts using the Fast Tracks jigs and selling them on his website.

Starting out with the #8 slip (single or double) and the #7 turnout, accepting suggestions for other items in the Fast Tracks line.

Offers either done as a skeleton (you provide the ties) or fully assembled, with a bulk discount.

Likely mainly of interest to those in the US, but anyone else who really wants one and is willing to pay the likely high shipping costs he will arrange a quote on the shipping.  Otherwise shipping costs currently are $10 or free on orders of $150 or more.

Athearn is slow getting the PDF files up, but yesterday they announced an upgrade of their P40/P42 model to a Genesis level model.  Several Amtrak paint schemes in the first run, with VIA as a tentative (still awaiting licensing).

Several upgrades to the detailing, significant upgrade to the frame to increase it's weight and thus it should be much better at pulling passenger cars.

Mentioned now because those happy with the older versions may want to watch for second hand, and those who want a Genesis level model may want to hold off - preorders will be due June 26(?) with an eta of May 2021.

Hopefully the proper announcement stuff should be up soon, otherwise you can look at the HO manufacturer updates/video thread for a link to the May 29th Athearn Live where this was the second item discussed (after the new run of GP15's).
