br2975
Found a 'hard copy' on the shelves of W.H.Smith in Cardigan last Saturday. . https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rise-fall-King-Coal-ebook/dp/B01GU08ISE . For a South Walian with an interest in the coal industry I found it an absorbing read. . Brian R
Arthur
Following Brian's recommendation I ordered a copy which arrived today. Only had a brief look so far but have been very impressed with it. Plenty of excellent photographs, diagrams of colliery layouts and cutaways of screens etc. these look like the kind of thing which would have appeared in boys magazines and books years back. Lots of informative text too. Well worth the £6.99 cover price. So, thanks Brian
Peter Kazmierczak
Saw a copy in WHS this morning. Looks well worth the £6.99 to me but haven't had the chance to go through it in detail as it's a wedding anniversary present - I'm sure my wife will love it............ Stephenwolsten
Certainly worth buying. Very well illustrated, with good rail coverage as one would expect given the author. But it is also pleasing to see ancillary industries such as coal products covered too. Some of the cut-away drawings of industrial plant are very unusual.
