The incident may be old news and the Daily Post only reports it as under investigation. Presumably the revoking of the licence is the 'new' news hence why the Cambrian News have picked up on it.

Nope, it happened ages ago and was reported again by the Daily Post on Jan 3rd, exactly the same story reworded maybe a different quote from Colin Dale, it's what these papers do when there is no news - you get the same story a good 3 or 4 times from them, and it will be in the Caernarfon & Denbigh Herald as well.

It is a case of the Cambrian Chipwrap picking up on something that has been around a while although to be fair it is probably only just picking up this item as there has been a meeting recently relating to the management (I use that word loosely) of the project.

The Facebook pages relating to the project have been making the North Korea and US Twatterspat look like a reasonable theological discussion at a vicarage tea party. There have been accusations of fraud, secrecy, ineptitude, and the whole thing has got very unpleasant, which is presumably why the dear old Cambrian has decided to break cover. The pigeon taking the story down to Aberystwyth must have got blown off course by the recent stormy weather.

On a more serious note, it does look like those who were advocating caution on the project based on what they had experienced in the past were correct to warn people. Network Rail clearly decided enough was enough and didn't have confidence in the way the project was being handled to allow it to continue.

I had a look at those. Having been in a dysfunctional (non-railway) amateur group before, there were a few familiar themes and behaviours in there.

There's also a copy of a letter on there from Network Rail that suggests the license to do stuff on the track was pulled in August.
