I think the fan blade snubbers probably give the RB211 heritage away.  More modern large fans have swept snubberless blades....

Indeed, the PW JT9/2000/4000, GE CF6 and CFM56 also had mid span shrouds, probably others as well, but these are the engines I’m more familiar with.

Cheers,

Mark

Thought I'd add this one also, on the way down to Atlanta from Minneapolis,

I happened to be on a B737-900, my daughter is assigned the B737/700/800/900 so decided to get an up close and personal at her future office;

Good luck to your daughter with her career.

I’ve spent the last 16 years on Boeing’s and loved every minute

Today the NATO exercises must be over the 'Enemy' appear to be migrating back to base...

That sitting duck of a UK aircraft carrier arrived in Halifax a week or two ago to join in..

It's very impressive, but like HMS Hood, does look eminently sinkable..

Ha, they’d be shredded aluminium before they got within ten miles of the carrier.

Actually is was not these superannuated warplanes that I had in mind to sink HMS aircraft carrier

Something more like a stealthy Chinese submarine  or two... :)

We’ll do them too...

A very smart looking little Antonov at Sarajevo airport. I suspect that it belonged to one of the Balkan air forces although I could not get a side view to see the markings clearly.

From the link, I presume that you mean Hungary rather than Bulgaria? Wiki seems to think that the Hungarians have an Antonov,  so that looks like a good bet.

Best wishes

Eric,

Yes, apologies, Hungary.

When I first saw the shape of the fin flash/(non-round) roundle my first thought was Hungary, however I checked it wasn't Bulgaria, and therefore had Bulgaria on the brain when posting.

Ramble over.

Best

Scott

EDIT: I can't get the images to show in the right order. It seems to automatically arrange the images in order of precise size...... Hopefully you get the gist of the correct order.....

Good pictures but definitely a GR4.

Sorry, Andy, it's an F.3. 111sq never flew the GR.4.

Here's the preceding shot as it taxied onto the threshold, just for confirmation. Serial is ZE965.

My bad. I was thinking it was much recent than 2010. Sorry.
