Can someone translate the 'airspeak' please..

Here is an early morning snap at LCY (London City airport)  of NA (G-EUNA) whilst I was doing the daily and etops (Extended-range Twin-Engine Operational Performance Standards*) transit check prior to release to SNN (Shannon airport) and onward to JFK (John F Kennedy airport - New York)

*these are the standards that allow twin-engine aircraft to do long overwater flights

Even further back I took our eldest grandson, then living in Southampton to the Solent Sky aviation museum. A small museum which highlights the significant contribution to aircraft development and manufacture that the Solent area has made.

That's not a Camel. It's a Pup.

Thanks for the correction. I have changed the caption. The fact that I added F1 to the original caption makes me think that I copied the details from a label on site or a guide, but I would rather it was my mistake than the museum's.

Couple more from my sojourns through JFK, these show the "advantages" of using the T4 - T2 Jitny bus, some great apron level views.

Some great pictures posted , I particularly like Phil Sutter's pictures , I remember all of those 146\rj aircraft from my time at BA Cityflyer at LCY, we used to call G-BXAS," always sick "as it was horrifically unreliable and was reportedly haunted too !

G-LCYB was one of two RJ85 aircraft we had whilst the rest of the fleet were RJ100 . They came from another carrier ( blue one I think ) and were always a bit flaky . Funnily enough though I never had any major tech issues with Swiss aircraft except for some pretty major pilot mess ups , I have some pictures somewhere showing some of these incidents, I'll see if I can find them and post them.

If that Air Europe 757 is G-BKRM , I flew on that to Dalaman in 87ish with my mum and dad !

It certainly is G-BKRM, and I think it was almost new in that photo from 1983.

Now some aviation history - Charles Kingsford Smith's Fokker F.VIIb Tri-Motor which in 1928 made the first trans-Oacific flight from the mainland USA to Australia.  Now preserved ina  special memorial building near Brisbane Airport and rather awkwardly behind angled glass when seen head on -

A poorly stored slide, but the only one I have of a CP Air DC8 at Cardiff

CP Air 747 which was almost as large as the terminal buildings - and wouldn't fit in the photo unless the aircraft was a few hundred yards away.
