RMweb Premium Sasquatch Posted April 7, 2020 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted April 7, 2020 (edited) https://www.facebook.com/TheQueensburyLines/ I check in here regularly and today was pleasantly surprised to find a helicopter view. Hows that Manna? Also new is this old picture of a train of Holden 6 wheelers on route from Halifax to Bradford. I think my wallet will take a bashing when Hattons release their model ones. RMweb Premium Popular Post Sasquatch Posted April 11, 2020 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 11, 2020 This week I have done quite a lot of modeling. The subway got installed, some modification was needed to the terrain and wing walls have been added. Much fingertip burning occurred during this installation. The foot bridge could do with some weathering. Having got a bit fed up with standing on a box stretching across the layout I fancied a bit of a change and broke out the flockaging. I have made a start on the scenics of the left hand lift off section and whilst studying some pictures of the area around the signal box noticed that my cutout in the embankment was far too large. So I set about shrinking it. After paring off the walling, two pieces of foam block were cut and added before patching it back up. A few capping stones have been added from strips of Wills victoria paving. The signal box is much closer to the station masters house on the layout than the real thing was. My scenic modeling has become quite rusty of late and I had to consult Mrs. S. more than once. Then I still got it wrong. She told me to use hair spray, then I went and hit the bushes with spray glue. This turned white and didn't hold the scatters. To fix things some heavy equipment was brought in, I mixed some suitable acrylic greens thinned with water and airbrushed the errant undergrowth until an acceptable result was accomplished. Bushy embankment in front of the farmhouse. Great view looking up station lane. Lastly a bit of fencing. This is the Ratio four bar type which I hit with grey primer, washes of burnt umber, charcoal and dry brushed moss. To finish I painted the bottom with PVA and dipped it in some course flockage, then poked it into the foam while still wet. Thanks for looking in and don't eat too many chocolate eggs. Had I seen this before I started Much would have been changed and time saved. Remember I spent weeks procrastinating over that curved diamond crossing for instance! Trouble is, compression into available space. regards Shaun 4 1
RMweb Premium Sasquatch Posted April 12, 2020 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted April 12, 2020 (edited) Happy Easter people. All I managed yesterday was the station masters shed. It started out as a Heljan HO kit. I heightened it with two courses of Wills dressed stone then painted and weathered it with my much loved crafters paints. The wood pile is made from various rose, apple, and oak twigs found on the ground outside and some bits from my own wood cutting stump all cut and split with a Stanley blade before carefully gluing in place. I also started on some detailing for Willow Hall Farm. More on that later... Edited April 13, 2020 by Sasquatch Blunt axe 11

RMweb Premium Sasquatch Posted April 14, 2020 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted April 14, 2020 Spent a pleasant evening working on the Station masters garden. Stone path with uncut grass complete with dandy lions. His wife prefers perennials like roses, azaleas and I've quite forgotten the name of those yellow flowering shrubs. There are some quite substantial trees at the entrance on Station road. Hopefully more tomorrow. Shaun. 11
