Looks like this has to be done in sections. (Yawn).

Its a quiet Sunday morning on the Yorkshire layout. The mods from heartbeat are getting a few down in the Birch Hall Inn for lunch and the goat always comes home before dark.

Oh hi Jaz, you're up with the larks?

It's me who's a sad old git BTW for spending 20 minutes setting up that daft class four pic! It doesn't look anything like the real picture.

D5061 on the bridge........ With an admirer from the Channel islands.

Hi Shaun, wow these are worth waiting for, I love the shots through the arches and the low level street angles. looks like a cracking layout and has given me some ideas of what I will need to do in the small Town / Village when I start my Last Great Project.

All the best,

Andy :sungum:  P.S. No apologies for ALL the like ticks.

Yes Jason me too. It was fun to create, putting the buildings in various configurations until I was happy. The original Metcalfe viaduct got binned as it just wouldn't fit. Next up will be a mill towne like your Bacup. I have been building factories, warehouses and mills like a mad man  for about 4 years and in the spring will hopefully be ready to do the same as the village but on a much bigger scale... I'm thinking Keighley Halifax with more than one railway company.

Regards Shaun

Reply quoting post isn't working either now. ??????? What's up with that.

Couldn't add the pics to my posts so posted them separately to include captions!!!

Beginning to think it's RMweb and not my computer.

Keighley had more than one railway company; not only did the Midland build and operate the main line and Oxenhope branch, but the GN operated a line from Bradford & Halifax to Keighley, which met the KWVR at Ingrow. There are still a lot of old mill buildings around the vicinity of Keighley to Ingrow, as well as the river, terraced houses, cobbled streets and some fantastic bridges and the like. It would be no hardship for me to potter down there and get you a load of photos if you want.

How about this for character galore? That is the KWVR crossing the road

Sasquatch and Mrs Sasquatch

Wonderful pictures, and being a person who has spent days (if not weeks!) rather than hours researching this station and the surrounding areas checking how the land falls I see so many of those details here, the walls, various fencing, the tall conifer near the water tower, the cattle grid, the rail bridge over the water., and so much more. The gradients of the ground and the colouring have all been clearly well researched, the bench up on the road side (as on google) nothing has been overlooked.  People who use resin made buildings are often not considered modellers, but I think your attention to detail is just wonderful.

I enjoyed the lambrettas / vespas surely you need a couple of lads, and one to look like you.

Goathland is well thought out nicely planned, you made a nice spot for the Birch Inn, adding some of the details from it's home and made it believable. I just can't express how well I think you have done, so many small details and clearly based on the real thing. The greenery is believable. And considering that you have to fit this all into a layout size. Superlative.
