Sorry Ian! Yes Balders it is Wigan SP and the coach was part of the overhead maintenance train that was always parked up there, i know nowt about coaches but there was some interesting old wooden bodied ones amongst them.  Edit' Just added another pic' on the class 47 photos thread which shows the Red coach on the scrap line.

Another mixture i've just recently found and badly scanned. Seen in the Wigan, Longsight and Warrington areas back in the '80's & '90's.

I'm curious about the vehicle six from the back of the train, just in front of what is presumably a Railfreight Distribution liveried van with the yellow end. A bolster with a load, or a timber wagon perhaps?

Is there anything more visible / obvious on the original slide? Or notes...

Thinking it may be a bogie wagon, with the two white highlights being brake wheels on the bogies.

Sure is a mixed freight alright!  From my bad memory and from just zooming in on it, it is a single bogie wagon load of logs and not even piled or fully loaded up. Hope it helps!;)

Sat' 30-3-19. My first visit to Taylors Ln. Bridge, Nr. Springs branch Wigan in quite a few months and i finally managed to see my first ever class 88, 88008 and a couple of 90's with 90 047 leading and the other 90 unknown, all passing within fifteen minutes of each other, all on container trains at around 9.40am.  A lot of changes and differences in the 30 odd year gap between my last posted AC electric pics':O

There must have been a last minute failure for this to have appeared in the early 1990s.... unless it is ECS; but then a head appears to be leaning out of the third carriage's door window so probably not.  Sadly, I can't quite read the number.

Freightliner 86609 and 86612 provide ample power for a lightly loaded 4K64 11:46 Garston FLT - Crewe Basford Hall service on the 29/03/2019. The pair had worked to Garston over night on 4M42 ex Felixstowe, the electrics taking over from Ipswich.

Back in 1987 the ECS might of gone into Euston Carriage Shed which has now been demolished for HS2. The whole area is changing dramatically week on week. I still get to see a 86 or 87 most mornings on the sleepers but not much longer as one has gone over to the impressive new stock already and the other not far behind.

A couple of shots making the most of the longer days and light as of late at Acton Bridge.

First up is Freightliner 'Powerhaul' 90043 leading the 1M16 2045 Inverness, Fort William and Aberdeen to London Euston Caledonian Sleeper service at 05:05 on 08/06/2019. Both the 90's and the stock enjoying a bit of a reprieve due to the delays with the new MK5 sleeper stock.

Second up is the ever dependant pairing of Class 86's working WCML intermodal trains. 86622 leads sister 86607 with the 4M42 2152 Felixstowe North FLT to Garston FLT service on 20/06/2019, they had taken over the train from Ipswich. They later ran back to Crewe Basford Hall from Garston light engine 0K64 before working the evening departure 4S59 20:59 Crewe Basford Hall - Coatbridge FLT.
