31st December 2021

DB Cargo Class 90's, Bumblebee3 (90020) and Multimodal (90019) returning home to Crewe IEMD in time for New Year's Eve, having earlier worked 4M25. Seen here at Stafford station

A new pair to look forward to for Monday hopefully ...

I've noticed that from the 2 videos, the leading loco's have opposite lights lit - can somebody explain why please?

A common reason is that one is the day setting and the other is the night setting.

So the 1st video is 'night'? - the sky does look a little bit darker. I thought it might be due to lite running / pulling load difference.

Just a guess but it may depend on when the particular leg of the journey begins/ends?

If it starts or finishes at night then night lighting is chosen?

It seems to be becoming a regular thing in the last couple of weeks having one or two Skodas parked in the south bay at Rugby during the day, next to the allocated thunderbird 57. It's nice to see! 7th Feb saw 90034 and 90035. At 0745 they had just been parked as I waited for a 350 to Coventry, and still there later that afternoon. I believe they are stabled after arriving in the early hours at Daventry off an overnight Grangemouth train.

Regards
