Railway-related pub signs

Another one, fairly local to me is the Bristol & Exeter Inn, a cider pub in Bridgwater

I only went to the Bridgwater Carnival once, in 1965, between boarding school and starting work in London. It was one long pub crawl, so I might have been into the B&E, but I really can't remember!

Hertfordshire, Northants, & Lincs, with a couple of interesting intruders.

Tallington appearing again I see.

And the Railway at Ketton, which I'd forgotten was near me, is a nice little pub. It's a shame the parking is abysmal and that it is a bit of a walk to the nearest bit of the railway!

The Swan & Railway opposite Wigan North western - serves "real" ale !!

Tale is when the LNWR rebiult and widened the bridge at the north end of the station two pubs were demolished - The Swan on one side and the railway on the other. Hence the "new" pub was named after both !!

Few if any 7Fs reached Burnham - but why let that spoil an artist's interpretation of the S&D. I have taken a photo of that pub and sign, but I can't find it and it wasn't as good as yours anyway!

Once facing one of the more prominent stations, Ringwood, on the Southampton & Dorchester Railway's Castleman's 'Corkscrew' / the 'Old Road' / the L&SWR's proposed coastal route to Exeter.

Now relegated to a distant view of a road, 'Castleman Way' and adorned with a generic name / non-descript sign, depicting, of all things, a GWR locomotive !,...Heresy !....Blasphemy even !

Even my PC's so ashamed, it won't select a view of the sign which is the right side up !

Stewart has already posted photos of the former signs at the Somerset and Dorset at Burnham on Sea,

this is the current sign, which is probably the one Phil refers to.

Note, both sides are now the same.

There is also this interesting wall art on the side of the pub

And yesterday in Newton Abbot I called in here, the Locomotive Inn,  a C17th listed building which presumably had another name at one time

At one time the Railway Hotel at Yatton had a class 52 Western featured on the sign,

cheers

I went in there last week at the end of my walk along the Strawberry Line, the sign no longer features a Western
