D826
Dear all Not up to the standard of ParkeND's work or the fantastic Netherhope Halt - but this is my progress to date on Tintern - inspired by the Black Dwarf Lightmoor book on West Gloucestershire and Wye Valley lines and the section in it on Tintern. It's full of compromises - and still needs lots of scenic work, a better signal box, (there really is too much light at the end of my tunnel) better integration of structures - but you get the drift of it here. Photos show up all the faults and it needs a lot more work. With other commitments I don't have much spare time to work on it but I enjoy it. All too often posts on here seem to get tied up by the latest production delay/price increase/lack of manufacturer communication/design error etc and miss the point of what the hobby is all about. I hope you'll show us more, Matt, when time allows.
brianusa
Looks good to me! For some reason, I am a fan of F of D lines; only been there a few times and your layout is very convincing. You should never compare your efforts with others, each has a charm of its own and should be enjoyed. Brian.
ParkeNd
Hi Matt - I reckon your layout looks terrific and is a very good representation of Tintern Station. I live very near the site of the station and know it quite well. It's very convincing indeed. Please show us some more photos and tell us a bit about the construction when you have time. Very good. Arthur
Dear all ...but I enjoy it. As Adrian has said, that is all that matters. Looks good to me, I too am not that far away and you've already captured the essence of it. Nice work.

F-UnitMad
"...but I enjoy it." and that's what it is all about! Abso-flippin-lutely!!! That is all that matters, really! For what it's worth, until photo 4, I thought I was looking at an OO layout. Only the van's coupler gave it away.
