A great set of figures there, the WWII relaxed soldiers sound promising too.

Best of luck with the move.

Stu

PS - Still hoping to see you in April :)

I have been busy adding your people to my Freshwater 2mmFS layout, ready for the Stevenage CMRA show this weekend. There are now about 15 of them, so far, dotted around.

Good luck with the move Alan, I assume this is a sign of the business expanding.

Ragged Victorians sound good, not to mention the lamps.

No doubt a Steam Punk crew soon? :D

Some more excellent figures. Best wishes with the move.

One question about the modern image figures if I may?

Please excuse my ignorance but which figure is the Colas & Freightliner figures? I am not 100% sure which they are and require clarification please.

I can tell which the EWS & DRS ones are, which are the polo shirted drivers.

Hi AeBor, the Colas and Freightliner ones are generally the hi-vis ones for quarry workings.

Hi there, yes quite a few and you can find them here - https://www.modelu3d.co.uk/product-category/finescale-figures/railway-and-lineside/1969-1997-rl/

I've another 3-4 to add and more to come!

'Demob Suits' were worn well into the 50s if not later.

Phil

My German Teacher (the man who taught let me mangle me the language, not his nationality ;) )  still wore what looked suspiciously like one in the 1980s....

Yes, from the 20th January onwards :-)

A serious question if I may Alan.

Do you have access to items of period clothing for anyone wishing to be scanned ?

I appreciate there are many periods which are modelled and you include in your excellent range.

Access to a certain Era's clothing may be beyond the "normal" modeller that is why I ask. For my part it is GWR in the Edwardian period.

Whilst typing maybe there are facilities in or around Bristol which may hire out such items ?

Best wishes with your move and every success.

Grahame

p.s. I know that one of the contributors above has successfully carried out surgery on 4mm models to great effect but it would be a bonus not to resort to wealding a knife to miniatures if possible.

When I used to run a theatre company we frequently used Flame/Torbay Costume Hire. They were pretty good on Victorian and Edwardian stuff, and Military Uniform, so may well have what you need as their website specifically mentionsd transport uniforms, and they are in the SW, although they will deliver anywhere in the UK. http://www.flametorbay.co.uk/?LMCL=lsnhsu

The move to Bristol is complete and Modelu is now fully operational in Meriton Foundry in St Philip's Marsh.  I'm also pleased to announce that Nicola has joined the team and is helping out with order processing and stock control.   You can visit us here for 3D scanning or product sales, just drop us an email or a phone call first to make sure we are in.  The Shrewsbury studio is still open for scan bookings.

Order Times

Please note that over the next 2 weeks I'll have very little time in the workshop due to attendance at Rail 2020 and a short break the week after.  In my absence Nicola will be processing orders and shipping any orders that have all items in stock. Thank you for your patience during this busy time.

You can join the new group here.

Big thanks to Neil at Dapol for giving me access to measure up for bespoke crews.  Those magnetic roofs really make a big difference! New Products Now Available

0300 - The Ragged Victorians

The 'Ragged Victorians - The Great Unwashed' are an award winning living history group, re-enacting the lower classes of Victorian England. c1851.  I had the great pleasure of scanning many of the group after an event at the SS Great Britain last October.  This first release are nothing like anything I've done before and have been hugely enjoyable to work on.  More poses are scheduled for later in the year, including seated people and Victorian loco crews.   You can read more about the group on their website and see which events they are attending.

Thanks to the Friends of Pendon for attending a scanning day last October, there are now a large addition of new figures to the Pendon Collection.  These include seated people, gardeners, workmen and children.  Look out for some of these poses appearing in the Vale Scene in the months to come.

1100 - British Rail 1970s

Thanks to Mike Wild and Hornby magazine for their feature on Modelu 3D Scanning at Warley! With the help of the SVR's Nick Willcox and Jeff Atkins original 1970s BR kit, we scanned Mike and created two figures for his Class 52 Western. Both these figures are now in the range along with a new leaning shunter and a BR Guard.

After Midnight Mass at All Saints Church, Babbacombe, the recently-married young lady from FlameTorbay gave us each a hug early on Christmas morning 2019! We know her through TOADS, the local amdram group, where she acts and has directed.
