The latest Bachmann 45T Ransomes and Rapier steam crane, must have been visiting the area and ended up coming to the assistance of a B4 that managed to suffer an earthing fault (the wheels touching the earth!) at the Quay.

A reminder that Canute Road Quays next exhibition is this coming Saturday, 16th February, at the Tonbridge Model Railway Club exhibition being held at the The Angel Centre, Tonbridge, Kent, TN9 1SF. The show is open to the public between 10am and 5pm.

http://www.tonbridgemrc.com/exhibition/

It is the Tonbridger MRC’s 39th Exhibition and Canute Quay will be in the company of over 30 layouts, including a number of Suuthern interest including Cheffley (00), Forrestone (N), Four Oaks (00), Hayning Island (EM), Lynswood (00), Manston Airport (00), Rixworth Green (P4) and Shellsea Harbour (00)

The Angel Centre is conveniently located in the centre of Tonbridge, a 5 minute walk from Tonbridge railway station with frequent trains to London, Ashford and East Kent, Hastings and Tunbridge Wells, and a very short walk from the High Street bus stops. In addition, the venue is surrounded by large car parks, making access easy. It should be noted that the The A21 is closed past Tonbridge over the weekend of the exhibition from the Sevenoaks Weald (Morleys) Roundabout and the Vauxhall lane exit so there will be increased traffic around Tonbridge.

I shall be ably assisted by friend and fellow modeller St.Simon  of this parish (have you seen his Signalling book yet?) so come and say hello to us both.

Up periscope... (I provide one for the not so tall visitors) as Canute Road Quay is observed at the Tonbridge MRC show today.

Canute Road Quay never disappoints; something always happening!

Today was the first time seeing the layout with quayside sounds which were great, really immersive.  I think DCC steam can sometimes sound a little 'tinny' so to have real shunting sound-clips in the background makes a big difference.

Another enjoyable day exhibiting Canute Road Quay, this time at the excellent Tonbridge MRC show.
A Hearty thanks to all whom braved the weather to attend the show, say hello and make so many positive comments about the layout.

Was great to catch up and natter with old friends and new alike.
Thanks also to @St. Simonfor his lovely company and assistance.

Following taking part in the excellent virtual members day last weekend I thought I would re-post here the three little videos that I produced for the virtual exhibition layout thread. Thanks also to all whom organised and took part the event and helped raise a fantastic sum of money for the NHS Charities Together Covid-19 Appeal

The layout is DC so none of this DCC Jiggery Pokery  so whilst I do not have sound fitted locos I commissioned the production of an 40 minute ambient sound file that plays on a loop via a speaker under the baseboard that includes over 30 sounds such as not only loco noises but that of actual shunting, buffering up, wheel squeal, boats, voices and of course seagulls. Some of these sounds can be heard on the video clips below
