RMweb Premium Dava Posted September 20, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 20, 2016 Class 37 leader D6700 has been at the DRSL depot at Leicester for a while, restored in green. Presumably still owned by the NRM. Anyone know what it's doing there and what its future holds? Is it a runner? I'm sure a visit to the GCR or GCR[N] would excite interest from Growler fans! 73c
I'm sure I saw 2 green 37's there, one tucked right up the back on the right hand side and one out front with 2 barrier coaches, didn't catch the number because of the wagons in the way

RMweb Premium TheDukeOfWellingtons Posted September 25, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 25, 2016 D6700 has gone to Leicester to have a defective traction motor repaired/replaced. It has been out of service since the fault occurred, was dropped off there by D9002 after a quick visit to Leeds Midland Road for a turn on the wheel lathe. Should see some action again in due course.
RMweb Premium Dava Posted November 17, 2016 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 17, 2016 Sighted yesterday whilst awaiting a train at the North end of Leicester station, there were rumblings from the Rail UK depot. The collection of 56s and others can be seen in the sidings. Class 37 D6836 shunted restored Class 50 50008 Thunderer (D408 as I remember it) between sidings. They did not go beyond the overbridge, then backed into another siding. Today the MML experienced delays in the morning from a freight stuck at Dronfield, then later the aftermath of a fallen tree at Ambergate resulted in service disruption out of proportion to the incident.
