Andrew P
Yep, I did a bit of work on one for a friend when I weathered it for him. The springs on the coupling hook are also far too soft and the chromed links are a pig to blacken. Yep, the newer ones are already Black and lift freely for coupling. I may change them when I get a chance.
Andrew P
Hi all, I need to sell my Heljan 26 in Green with small yellow ends, this is as yet un chipped, but has a Driver fitted and the Pipes and Snow Ploughs are in the box, so it's still as new. And also the Blue 08 08202 with Paul Chetter's Protodrive Sound and a Bass reflex Speaker fitted. Please pm me if interested.

Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!! No Paul, I have only used the Blue 08 once, and for Shunting the 26 is to big in the 8ft I use for the Yard, so both are surplus to requirements, I still use the Green and Black 08's and the HC and Peckett. Chris IS to blame for making such fine Locos, I still have the Pannier Tank on order from him, so far from giving up mate. Andrew P
Never have been happy with the way Dapol weather their Stock either in O or OO so today I attacked the Coal Wagon with the Air Brush as I was doing several other jobs and there was some Soot Paint left in the cup. Here's how it was. And now. (it will still need some more finishing off with some Jintyman / Paul King type work on the Chassis) Edited February 12, 2017 by Andrew P
coachmann
Today I decided to backtrack on this thread and look at those Peco above Baseboard Motors you used, as well as the Lever Peco Frame. That done, I went to my Peco catalogue and shock-horror, it's dated 2005 and such point motors weren't even a twinkle in the developers eye. So an up-to-date catalogue is required. Thinking about such things is an indication that layout building is beginning to stir in my mind. I will stick to the plan to start at the end of March, but in the meantime some purchases can be made.

Andrew P
Seems that Beale Street Loco's are ON TOUR.......... Indeed they are Martin, The Dornoch Branch at the Club was converted from a Tramway Line when the Member that built it left to go to Crich. Our Chairman has a love for Scottish Pre Grouping Steam Locos and so was given permission to convert it to Dornoch. Now it's done he only runs it at the two open weekend each year and so I asked the Committee if I could insert a 2 way switch for DCC Conversion, and that was agreed. In the pics above it's only working on Anolog, but on Club running nights another couple of Members and myself run on DCC.
coachmann
A Peco catalogue came yesterday so I have been watching your video again. You have made good use of the PL-11 surface mounted point motor and PL-26 passing contact changeover switches in the PL-50 multi-switch mounting frame. Definitely the way to go for Carrog. I have also looked at the Peco SmartSwitch surface mounted servo for changing points or signals. I wonder if anyone has used these, and do they activate things slowly? In fact, can the speed of throw be controlled?
