Pen Y Bont from page 39.

Poor Andy P. gets confused by mid afternoon if he doesn't get his sleep and forgets a train passing Bala in the 80's would get rather wet before reaching Blaenau.

As for steam specials up the Conway Valley, someone told me there wasn't much happening this year.

I'd just woken up, haha :sungum:

I went AWOL for three hours and what's all the activity on Pen Y Bont about!  Gauge changes?

Just had a Text from DPD, Tower delivery due between 12.02 and 13.02, how's that for a timed delivery then!

My DPD delivery the other day (also from Tower Models) arrived exactly at 12:02.  I thought the driver was early but he wasn't, he had been running early and waited outside until the time window arrived.  Compare that to Amazon who tell you that the parcel will arrive between 6:00 and 22:00!  I think Tower Models use DPD Local which is run as a different company from DPD (at the moment, anyway).

But I had a Post Office special delivery this morning at 7:30 - beat that!

And finally a Lionheart / Dapol 16T Mineral that is on special offer, although I have a Parkside one, it has a fixed Coal Load so this one will have a magnetic removable load.

ALL the pics were taken in the normal way so I don't know why they went sideways.

We all love it when the postman brings us presents.  :jester:

Looks like it's full steam ahead on the project...maybe a busy weekend for you?

Thanks Anthony, many of the bits won't be needed for some time yet, but as they were all bits that would be needed eventually, so I decided to get them all in one go and save on postage.

Peter BB PM'd me asking about how I modify the Peco Points, so here's some pics and a brief explination.

The first thing to say is that it doesn't matter if your DC or DCC, as all your doing is ensuring electrical continuity without relying on the switch blade touching the Stock Rail.

So I put a small piece of wire over the Fish Plate that joins the rails, it isn't neat, but once weathered and ballasted it will hardly show.

Next I bond the Switch Rails to the Stock Rails, and also use this as a Track Feed.

Next I attach a wire to the Frog Feed, this will go to either  switch or Point Motor, in my case it's going to the Traintronic TT300 Point Motor.

Lastly break away the small wires under the Frog, I don't break them off entirely, in case I want to re instate them at some time.

Don't forget to ensure you have Insulated Fish Plates on the V Rails from the Frog.

I also Modify the Point Switch to improve the appearance.

Then lay the Point.
