Hi Paul,

How long do you usually wait for a reply with Railtec, I contacted them back on the 30th March and still no reply! I noticed they said they were busy, but have heard nothing and I tried to track my ticket but nothing!

Due to absolute sheer volume of incoming messages (not just emails but chat windows, Whatsapp, phone calls, etc) - not to mention all the other activities such as designing new packs, mass printing, working with manufacturers / magazines / etc, there are instances where it unfortunately takes much longer than we'd all like to reply to all the emails. It's just a physical impossibility to get to all of them in a timely manner I'm afraid. We do get round to all of them and just ask for people's patience.

Hi Martyn just to add to the above reply from Railtec I've just ordered via the internet the off the shelf sheets and I've normally received them within a couple of days, just out of pure luck though the cl37 sheet I've ordered this morning has the very number (6921) I need.

Just out of interest - how did you remove the BR emblem before adding the white BR arrows?

Morning Deltic17 I've removed them by gently scraping them with the 'wrong end' of a dremmel drill bit and very gently with a craft knife on the stubborn bits, not ideal and you have to be very careful and a bit of good old spit to ;)

Hope that helps, just take your time.

Cheers

Now, if  I was to go over to the old mans scale, that might tempt me.

Mike.

You know you want to, Brian's been converted so only you and Phil left :)

Hey Mike.

Not so much of the old mans scale! 0 gauge is fabulous and appeals to ALL ages and you can SEE it, FEEL it and it has a presence which the smaller scales just do not portray. You do not have to be old to enjoy the senior scale!!

In the past when weathering wither n gauge or oo gauge it's always been pretty easy to contain the dirt/powder but with the shear size of O gauge I needed to think of a way of doing this (this would then ensure an easy life off swmbo with the kitchen being kept clean).

So a bit of improvisation using the peak outer box

And the use of a cat litter liner works quite well

So now the weathering has begun and I've already given the body a coat of roof dirt as a base layer so now for the powders.

That is superb Paul :good:

Cheers, Bob.

Thanks very much Bob here's today's efforts which look a bit drastic I know but it'll hopefully look ok in the end :O

This morning I managed to get a bit of work done to the roof mostly around the exhausts

Then tonight I've dived into weathering the body, it looks rather drastic but again once sealed I'll be removing quite a bit of this then repeating the process, the only unfortunate thing is some of the numbers have come off as I've obviously not sealed them properly :( not big deal though I'll just have to renumber it again.

So tonight's work was to remove last nights work :O unfortunately it's removed the numbers and arrows to but no big deal, I'm happy with the roof so I'll just build up the layers on the body over the next couple of days and just keep repeating the process.

Just a thought..........you didn't remove the glazing before weathering, have you a new set or have you a method for cleaning the glazing after weathering?

I believe that Maskol is Paul's friend there.

Jinty ;)

Day three and the third layer of dirt has been applied, again I'll remove some of this tomorrow then I think it'll only need a light dusting hopefully.

I might bring the airbrush out and de-mothball it so add a layer of frame dirt along the very bottom, normally I can do this with powders but due to the size it's proving a bit more difficult.
