Superb Paul - Interesting to see 13 002, is that going to have the Slave unit fitted ?.

Cheers, Bob.

Thanks Bob yes it will, it looks really good although there’s a couple of bit missing that the original had but I’m going to sort that

That looks great Paul - Nice to see something different, will both be powered ? - Just out of Interest, what happened to the real ones ?.

Cheers, Bob.

Thanks Bob, both are powdered and sound fitted, unfortunately they’re not mine and I didn’t do the conversion I’m just weathering them but they’re lovely. Couple of things missing off them though which I’m going to try and sort and the buffer beams should be thicker so I’m going to see what I can do with them to.

As for the original I think all three were scrapped unfortunately :(

Cheers

I don't know if it bothers your client, but as you mentioned adding details to the hump shunters, the speedometer drives on the coupling rods need removing. They had a super slow speed speedometer in the cab, I think cable driven from the axle.

Mike.

Nice one don’t suppose you’ve got any pics Mike?

Cheers

Cheers Mike here’s last nights work, using photos, I found out the buffer beams were made up of three plates bolted together which made things a bit easier.

Looking far better than it did

As I seem to have more threads than ripped cardi I thought I’d start a thread that will cover all my weathering work from O gauge down to N, wagons and coaches as well as track, as it’ll just keep everything allin one place. I will be keeping the ELJ thread going though as I’m hoping to finally get that underway soon.

Here’s a link, cheers

Thanks Duncan, the greasy oily look is something on shunters I’ve been working on over the last couple of years but think I’ve nearjy cracked it ;)

Could you put a quick "how to" on your weathering thread please?

Thanks

I wouldn't have thought it possible to achieve that standard of weathering with a quick guide.

Thanks Andy, sorry only just seen your reply, it takes a bit of work, practise and I have to admit it’s taken me over a year to try and perfect the right look for the chassis but I think I’m pretty close now.

There’s more pics on my new 8N thread

But here’s some taster pics of the finished 08096 and cl13 slave unit chassis
