I note now that the ‘Twin sound fitted ‘ 156 is only £110 more than the none sound I pre ordered. As I need DCC sound I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me if these are actually fitted with 2 chips . Yes, the sound fitted models as supplied by Charlie have two decoders. The Scotrail one that I have has, I understand, two V4 Loksound Select chips, whereas the newer models will have the V5 Loksound Select fitted in each car. One of the reasons I got the sound fitted one was the fact that it was clearly cheaper to buy it sound fitted from the start than buy two sound chips a later date. I model the DRS short sets in Anglia so I would be interested in one or maybe two of these, because it would make a nice variety of traction to run together. Regarding Northern 156s I would prefer Northern Rail purple or the current Northern Rail white as opposed to the Northern Spirit. I look forward to hearing more about the next batch in due course.
