very cool video mate the 68 looks excellent with the DVT just need the plug door stock .

Fingers crossed they aren't too far away! I believe the Scotrail and possibly the CrossCountry HST sets will need a similar conversion done on their mk3s when they go into service by 2020, so I'm sure the demand will be there for plug door mk3s eventually.

I might get some blue grey Intercity Mk3s for the meantime as the 68s pulled them for a little while for Chiltern when they first came over.

It was the sound fitted release, but I'm led to believe its one of Biff's chips that came fitted in it.

Not too many photos from tonight as most of my work was predominantly sorting out the wiring under the baseboard. I wired in my first ever signal, which was actually very easy to do. I'd highly recommend the 'Berko' range, they seem very good value for money.

Thanks for the kind comments guys!

I've actually really enjoyed doing all the lineside details, it's surprising how much there is beside the railway when you research it.

I have found this thread very useful in doing so if you're interested?

Like your new aspect signals joe,

what make are they??

Cheers Neil, they're made by 'Berko', mentioned about them to Dave earlier in the week actually.

They've got a good range to be fair, I've got my eye on a T junction one with two heads for my central platforms.

Eventually I hope to get some Infra red sensors to get them to change automatically when a train runs past.

Train tech do some signals that can be linked together and change automatically. I purchased some whilst at Ally Pally  couple of weeks ago. Haven't installed them on my layout yet, and won't be able to until I get home again in a couple of months. They certainly looked good. I also have a couple of Berko signals to install as well.

My dissertation at University is due in just under two weeks, so the layout will almost certainly come to a halt for a little while!

Continuation of wiring meant I had no trains on the layout last night. I did try to get some different angles that may not have been seen before.

  • 1 month later...

I've been extremely busy with university over the last month or so, meaning the layout hasn't progressed at all recently. This will change over the coming months though!

In the meantime, I fancied sharing some photos of some of my stock!

hi great set of photos of your stock is the tram an ho scale model mate ?

Pretty sure its HO. it's the Siku tram. I think it only cost me £15 or so.

I've painted it up in a similar scheme to Midland Metro. I'm undecided whether to use it though!
