To continue in what’s coming a couple more pics. The first pic shows a 304/1 MBS at the top and the bottom is the 304/2. The 304/1 MBS will providing on getting drawings also be for a 302, 305 and 308. There’s half etches on the back so the windows can be opened up to make the 305/1 & 308/3

The second pic shows 304 driving cars (the other 304/2 driving car not pictured) The top one also is for 305/2 and 308 and the bottom is the same as the 504 DMBS

Just need to get round to making all the bits to go with the 304’s

Hi Mike

Apologies if I've missed it but do you have any photos of the 1/051 china clay wagon? Can't see anything on your website.

Many thanks.

To help others, these are the photos Mike posted in his workbench of the 1/051:

Out of interest Mike, what are the 3 circular recesses on the lower side plank of the china clay wagon?

I'm not seeing them as such in photos of the real wagons, more sort of stick on hooks?:

I asked this on one of the threads (or might have been an e mail chain) - i think we concluded they are retaining "nobs" for tying down the covers. I'd never noticed them before seeing the model and going and checking again.

Looks like they were a later addition as the photo of the BR one in GWR Freight wagons and loads in service shows didn't have when built. Also the little J pieces under the wagon body in front of the solebar were later addition, guessing added when fitted with tarpaulins.

Next new etch is for a Salmon. Have got a couple of niggles with it so need to decide whether to alter or keep as is. It has half etch rivets/bogie centre markings for both BR and LMS style

I'll take one of these please in BR kit form, maybe two if you can do one with the cranes.

I will be resending the drawing off to redo again so slight delay but with improvements. John Talbot (Appleby) does the cranes.

I plan to update the website by 31st October (in time for the GoG virtual show)

Also I’ve discovered is that I can accept card payments remotely now. It’s done by me sending a email or text (smartphones only) I can’t do that by ringing me up and quoting the card number

I picked up a couple of the 13t Single Bolster kits at the Reading show a year or two back - these have been built as a permanently-coupled 26t Twin Bolster pair.

Still a WIP, the fine detail to add, then paint/decals/weathering/load.

A straightforward build with no issues :)

I've been slowly doing the same, got as far as numbering, just need to add axleboxes, wheels, bufferheads. What method are you going to be using to couple them together? I'll be using a split pin. Will put a photo on flickr when eventually complete

I used a simple strip of copper-clad, drilled through and a couple of plastic pins to hold the wagons together.

I've received back the revised Salmon and also the motor bogie etch and got so far with the build. I thought on the Salmon that I'd put some half etch holes on the rear of the solebar in the wrong places so drilled them out in a different position for the securing chain shackles but nope I'd had the half etch in the right place all along.

At the same time also had the 305/1 driving car and the 304/1 TC (also suits 302, 305/2 and 308) etched.

Prices to be advised. Unfortunately you can guess where the buffers and bogies for the Salmon, maybe a while before can obtain some more.

Hi Michael

The motor bogie looks good. Will it be able to fit under a carriage without needing any cutting of the floor?

Motor bogie looks good, how is it mounted and what is the wheel base?

Unfortunately almost certain yes, it won’t sit that much above the floor level, I’ll put on here the measurement from the wheel centres to the top of the mounting plate
