Afternoon all,

we have also had an update from Bachmann about their Rep Limited Edition model today.

As you have all seen the news about 31-651DB, the other announcement is that of the loco replacing it in the release slot.

31-660DB Class 47/4 47628 "Sir Daniel Gooch" GWR 150 - £159.95.

This will be available exclusively from retailers in the Midlands, Wales & Ireland, and is expected to arrive within the next 60 days.

Alex

Still leaves 47500 Great Western to do too.

So is the as yet unannounced Kernow MRC limited edition in GWR livery 47500, or was 47628 going to be Kernow’s but is now the Rep limited edition? A bit silly to have two similar limited editions at the same time.

Haven’t see a GW 150 class 47 at Kernow, only 50007 in GW 150.

The 47’s on display at Warley we’re 47625 City of Truro in weathered Blue, 47701 in NSE, 47712 in Scotrail.

47079 was previously done by Kernow, mentioned above.

There was a video posted of 47701 in NSE running on a circuit in their shop window, with 47625 in blue, 47712 in Scotrail and a GWR150 Class 47 stabled elsewhere on the layout that clearly was not 47079 (wrong tanks). Edited by brushman47544

Given Bachmann’s tendency to put on the wrong tanks, does that not almost guarantee it was 47079 ;-)

Guest Midland Mole @ Footplate

according to footplate models website  their website says they have 8 in stock of the model of 47628

scrap the above, I scrolled down and it stated pre-order due in next 60 days

Yes it is a quirk of our website design, I have to mark it as in stock so that people can choose to pre-pay for them.

Our website design does not currently have a facility to handle pre-orders properly, that is why we usually recommend people ring us to pre-order. It's not ideal but would require a major redesign of the site to get working. :)

Agreed but in the case of 47079 Bachmann did put the correct tanks on so the model in question is another 47.

All the pictures i have seen show warning flashes on the cab fronts and br blue tops panels on the sides.

These are not on the preproduction shot, any reason why that would be?

Interested as checked my spotting books from 1986 and 1987 and saw it a couple of times, meets my purchase criteria lol.

Thanks.

Edit.

Just noticed the tiny warning flashes on the front, darn my ipad mini and not wearing glasses !

Still not sure about the tops panel though https://mark-beal-tmd.smugmug.com/RetrospectiveRail/Retrospective-Class-47/i-DvgTvc2 behind the cab door in 1988

It's better without, I have some Replica Railways rub on data panel transfers, can add them at will. Given the variety in such a short time, its possible the real thing was a transfer too, and came off in the washer.

The Kernow MRC video showing 47500/47628 was to showcase the TCs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FefGt8Of5Ho. Has anyone on RMWeb been to the shop and seen which one it is?

Any word on when 47628 will be available please? I remember seeing that one and 47484 on the same Saturday in November 1986. Both on inter regional passenger workings. I had travelled down from Edinburgh on a Scottish Railfans tour. Train to Crewe and then coach to Derby, Toton and Coalville. Happy days indeed.
