RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted May 9, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 9, 2019 These really do look the part. In terms of purchases, it is small tank locos only for the foreseeable future. Peckett B2, Adams B4 and 1P to name three....... Rob.
RMweb Premium Colin Posted May 13, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 13, 2019 Looks like they are doing real justice to what is IMHO a very elegant prototype. Looking forward to one arriving on shed.....

Price still TBA. Isn't that more or less when the TMC NER O is due? A glut of 0-4-4Ts. (Two of this wheel arrangement definitely qualifies as a glut!) I'm reckoning on putting aside £25 a month towards the pair.

The same thing has cropped up on other threads. Perhaps the one you linked should be pinned with an update to the effect that the parties appear to be no longer trading with each other? GWR8700
I was having a rewatch of the Bachmann Andy York video from last year and in the big folder that Bachmann have compiled on the loco, it caught my attention that they had included close-up photos of the Johnson smokebox door variant. Hopefully this is a good sign that this early variation has been catered for in a future model? Edited August 14, 2019 by GWR8700

34theletterbetweenB&D
That's looking wonderfully 'veteran old crock'. I am interested in the drive layout as much as anything else, have Bachmann got it right with the motor in the firebox driving the rear axle so that the front end over the coupled wheels can be packed solid with ballast?

RMweb Premium Compound2632 Posted November 25, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 25, 2019 How are the brass numerals done on the Midland-liveried version? From the photos, looks as if they may just be flat transfers - which would be convenient.

Invicta
I do like those- I saw the BR version at Warley on Saturday and was impressed. It's the LMS version I'm waiting for, but that Midland one is very pretty, and I can see myself buying a pair and invoking Rule 1...
SDJR7F88
Got the BR example on order, being an SDJR loco. However, the MR Crimson version is just stunning! (Here's another image to wet your whistles)... Come on Bachmann, how's about a SDJR Blue version... 7

It was explained a good while back that Bachmann understand perfectly well that the run of S&DJR 0-4-4Ts - the "Avonsides" were different from the 1532 Class in numerous points including some significant dimensions. There was a solitary example of the 1532 Class, No. 1651 / 1305 of 1884, sold to the S&DJR in July 1921 to replace Avonside No. 54 that had suffered frame damage, taking its number. It was delivered in Midland red but lettered SDJR; it was subsequently (date unknown) repainted blue. When the S&DJR locomotives were taken into LMS stock in 1930, it resumed its old number 1305, with hand painted insignia on the blue livery - that would make for an interesting variation! However it didn't last long in that condition, being withdrawn in September 1931. It retained a round-topped boiler throughout. D. Bradley & D.
