This week, a visit from an old friend of Coleborne, although best part of a generation younger than us regular crew, we were enthralled by his tales of things called 60's 66's 68,s 800,s and many other numbers and liveries to numerous to list. He has promised to visit again soon with models of some of the afore mentioned engines, something we will look forward to. However, some actual modeling did take place, Nick with the station building, myself starting a barrow crossing for the platform ends. Only one picture this week, this is of a small recent fire probably caused by a loco. waiting here for the Dairy to be built.

Good to see you at Coleborne again Scott.

What a difference a day  week makes, Nick has made great progress on the station building but I would stress that the chimneys, canopy and name board are only a temporary fix for the pictures, it's amazing how many times something can fall off when trying to take a photo.

An arch is to be built on the right hand side of the building to form an entrance to the goods platform plus some thought is being given for the road / pavement layout etc. in front of the buiding.

A Thursday visit this week, as Nick and I had a chance to drive and fire Battle of britain, 257 Squadron on Wednesday, courtsey of Southern Locomotives Ltd. Thanks also to Swanage driver John Denison for putting up with us, and all the other railway staff  involved in making these trips possible.

First, a couple of pictures of Coleborne Junction station which seems to have been forgotten during our labours at Wimhill

Then back to Wimhill. People and weathering being added to the station, plus a new fence between the main line and the proposed dairy area. The dairy may be postponed whilst a station cafe is being built. This is planned to sit in the corner where Station road meets the sea wall. ( possibly ).

A Tuesday visit this week. Last week and this, our time was spent constructing a new bench  After some 10 years constructing the layout, it was decided that a decent workstation was required. So armed with a suitable length of kitchen worktop, wood, screws etc. we now have one.

An ideal space to set up the spray booth and air brush.

Two months since our last post here, time is just flying by, but with Christmas, New Year etc. over, we are now back to the important things , like building the station cafe for Wimhill. I first mentioned this in a November entry and the first pic. is of the cafe so far. The cafe is to have a small take away Fish and Chips at the left hand side, the second picture is of the recently installed fryer.

Wimhill station itself has now gained a pavement, chimneys and a few other bits and the cafe will fit in the corner of the road as shown.

Wentworth's chippy at Wimhill is now open, still needs a pavement for the expected customers to stand on, but with the ever growing passenger numbers at the station, business should be good.

A Wednesday afternoon meeting this week. We started the afternoon with Nick, Graham and I visiting our local model shop where, as normal, I wondered aimlessly looking at things I would love to have, most of which I don't need or can't afford. After our model shop fix, we returned to Coleborne. Firstly, in response to complaints by the staff at the chippy about the fat smell, despite not yet serving any customers,  Nick made an extractor fan chimney and fitted same to the buildings roof, then turned his intention to constructing six or so platform benches from a kit obtained during visit to the above mentioned model shop.  Graham and I started laying the paving slabs to the pavement area, a very time consumming job, one which we have yet to complete.

Next week, more paving slab fitting.

Hopefully, next week we will have pics.of the beginnings of the dairy , to be situated at the far end of the Wimhill area.

Meanwhile, this weekends show at Wimborne may produce other goodies.

Last weeks visit was Thursday afternoon, so I'm a little late posting pictures.  Last week , Nick had made an excellent start on the long awaited dairy, and I had painted the railings to fit the outer platform edge and fence the passenger side away from the goods area. This week, fitting the railings, admiring and playing with Grahams recently arrived Hornby TTS Nelson, chatting to Scott on one of his occasional visits, I completely overlooked taking any  photos of the dairy. It is however proceeding well and I  will take a couple of pics during this weeks visit.  My previous entry mentioned our forthcoming visit to the Wimborne Model Railway Show but a part from purchasing a Pasty and cup tea, no purchases were made. Never mind, a chance to save up for the Bristol show in May.

No pictures of the chip shop this week, two are of the afore mentioned railings and one of Wimhill on a busy day.
