Best Photo so far.

You would say that!

Just for you Les, another shot looking across the station, with a better view of one of the lamps... And the yet to be painted additional bits to the benches (the ski's across the bottom of the legs)

Well the station is coming along and the lights and seats were fitted on the last visit. Pleasure to operate and track is smooth

Looks good with the weathered stock and cab crew. A lot of hard work is being done and next I think its back to the Turntable

motor and drive. Job to get the drive not to slightly shudder but we will get there. Pooleboy

I'd be intererested to know what you decide to do with the turntable - I have a similar problem on "Trezeath" (not yet mentioned in my topic), with juddering and sticking. I have a peco TT plus a Frizinghall models motorising kit lavishly smothered with grease!

hi Paul not really sure how we will solve this problem or indeed what the problem actually is. I think the Peco TT is a really good looking model ,but driving plastic components can difficult. With are TT it all seems free running until we connect the motor. If we come up with a successful anwser we will be pleased to let you know.Trezeath is looking very nice.

Hi Nick

thanks. I *think* I have two problems - one is that the operating well is not quite exactly circular, making the deck catch against it from time to time, and the other is that the drive rod flexes a bit. I have a length of brass tubing soldered to a piece of flat brass ready to attempt to solve this - the operating rod will rin inside the brass tubing and the flat brass will be screwed to a block of wood which in turn will be screwed to the baseboard - hopefully this will reduce the flexing.

It all seems to work fine when the board's on it's side!!

Hi Paul we had the same problem with the deck catching i think at first we had cut the hole to tight , so we removed the well and eased the hole , but still had the same problem, we also lined the well with brick paper which didn,t help so we ended up easing the ends of the deck. We still have the problem of the drive ,which we are going to try using a solid drive rod (4mm silver steel) and coupling . Fingers crossed!!!

Evening,

Due to extreme pressure from the Coleborne controller I have been tasked to update the thread! I haven't been over to Coleborne for a few weeks so I have nothing to update although

I've been informed that canopy 3 is well under way so I should have some photos of that later in the week, also any other developments will be recorded and reported back here.

Until then here are a couple of pics..

The Bournemouth Belle arrives as the sun begins to rise

Evening,

I had a short visit to Coleborne last night, no running session just work on the station benches and weathering to water cranes being carried out..

Only took a couple of pictures, there have been no significant changes or additions. The current canopy build is getting nearer completion. I think Nick said he had spent 40 hours on it so far!

The branch line was discussed last night too, there was some suggestion that the wood work may start in the next few months, but we'll see.

Here is a picture of the shed area again, just showing some of the clutter.

Did you find your mojo while you were there?

Sadly not, but it was a nice change to play trains somewhere else and catch up with the (old) boys!

The Redbrook shunters paid a visit to the wheel cleaning dept and had a run, th eFGW 150 was also on route learning.

Thanks to Nick for letting them stretch their legs.

Cheers

Scott

Finally a more modern scene. My FGW 150 makes an appearance during happy hour. 09019 in the distance is conducting clearance checks on the platform. (it failed)

Blimey, has it really been this long??

Must be time for an update then. I managed to get over to Coleborne Junction this evening for a quick catch up with the guys. I'm pleased to say that the staion canopies are all done! I have been informed that its only taken a year. I'm sure Trackbed will be able to tell you how many hours!

It does look good, the effort was definately worthwhile. It changes the corner completely in my opinion.

The turntable is still an ongoing saga, wireman still cant get it to turn smoothly enough, it's the jerk thats the problem. :sarcastichand:

I took my camera, so I have attached a few photos below. Problem is they always seem better on the camera screen.

Here are a few of the station:

And finally 3 I've altered slightly:
