Are these printed using the standard resin meant for SLA printers?   I've found that way to brittle for day to day handling or any fiddling around with the finished model, adding 10% flex resin to the standard resin turns it into a material more akin to plastic model kits, things don't  shatter when dropped or twisted slightly.

The short answer is I’ve no idea, they were purchased from eBay.

The Morris Minor Van that came with the Bedford CF and Diesel Transit is unfortunately massively oversized……and the brittle nature of the resin resulted in me snapping a big lump off the Transit when trying to tidy up the cab window.

Is it really a Minor or could it pass for a Morris Cowley van as they looked exactly like a slightly bigger Minor?

Here's a couple more cars from Redandy (ebay) as received - two Fords; a Zephyr 6 Mk3 and a Cortina Mk2. My main concern is the glazing which isn't completely transparent and rather 'milky/dirty'. I might try painting the windows with Klear to see if that improves the look. But the overall painting/finish is great, especially for 3D printed. I'm impressed with them.

I’ve used gloss varnish on the windows which improves things and smooths out any printing ridges. I expect Klear will work as well.

Thanks for letting me know your experience with gloss varnish. Klear is a high quality acrylic gloss floor varnish with leveling properties. Apparently aero modellers use it by dunking canopies in it to make them clearer and help alleviate any scratches.

I think the newer formulation has fallen out of favour for that purpose

I've heard various reports about the new formulation being worse but also some saying it's not changed, so maybe, maybe not. Fortunately, I've still got the original Klear (and a second bottle unopened) so not a problem for me (or those who stocked up before it changed).

;-)

Some more Redandy 3D printed ready painted cars arrived in the post today: a couple of marinas, a couple of escort mk1 vans, a couple of cortina mk2s, a cortina mk4 and a cortina mk4 estate.

The 8 above came already painted - they're pretty neat and very well done.

I have painted RailNScale ones in the past and currently painting the CMAC/m0rris ones I've got (and a couple of unpainted Redandy ones I have). I generally use a mix of spraying aerosols, using a fine brush with acrylic paint and Posca paint pens (often depending on colours I've got and what need covering).

OK much the same as me. I’ll have to ask RedAndy how he gets the lines so neat.

HI,Grahame , Andy. It would look as though he uses fine tip marker pens for the silver lining .I also like his transfers that he has on the builders van. His headlights also look like decals as do the number plates. I wonder where he gets them from ? there could be a  new line available to all other modellers.

Look forward to the next models .Richards models  from Ntastic should come to us soon although hes having problems with his printers/caster at the mom so keep your eyes open

Regards Ray.

I've been having a bash at painting the CMAC/m0rris 3D printed cars I've got. They've all been primed, had a body top coat colour and the chassis/wheels painted black. Plus I've started to add painted trim details to the Leyland Princess - unfortunately there's no finesse and fineness improvement over the RailNscale ones I did a while back:

DSC02718red.jpg.c2578871a7821f5f1e1b68a1cafa5a82.jpgI've also had a bash at getting some paint on a Leyland Terrier from Redandy. It was an unpainted on in primer finish. It now needs a little tidying up and some number plates added:

Looking good……Haven’t got round to painting mine yet. It’ll gain a box van body and be liveried for NCL Fashionflow.
