Soar Valley MRC Easter Open Days, 3rd+4th April Easter Weekend.

Hi All,

 

The Soar Valley MRC are again holding their bi-annual Easter open days over easter weekend, 3rd and 4th April 2010. The show will be open from 10.30am - 5pm Sat, and 10.30am - 5pm Sun. Admission prices are £3 Adult, £2.50 Conc, £1 Children and £7.50 for Families. (Under 5's Free). Address is Swannington Village Hall, Main Street, Swannington, Leicestershire. LE67 8QN.

 

The layouts on Show will Be:

 

Dorehill St Stevens - Large 00 gauge, BR Midlands Steam/Diesel, the clubs Flagship layout in its first 'complete' appearance at this event.

 

Aylett End - 00 gauge, BR Southern region, DCC sound, First public showing of this layout.

 

Hardington Valley - Hornby Dublo, Another first time exhibit which has been built in memory of Club Member Roy Hardington who brought his own Dublo collection to previous events.

 

Hazelman Road - O gauge, BR Steam/Diesel in the Midland/Eastern region.

 

Sowters Lane - 009 Narrow gauge layout, very popular whenever it is exhibited, this layout set in Wales will entertain all with many cameo scenes.

 

Swithland Sidings - N gauge, the clubs latest build based around Swithland sidings on the GCR, running in the lates 50's, early 60's, this layout is unfinnished but will be fully running. Please ask any questions you may have about construction techniques, materials, stock etc.

 

Interactive Thomas Layout - small 00 trainset which the kids can play with, any donations made on this layout go to the local childrens hospice RAINBOWS.

 

 

There is also Free Parking, Disabled access, Refreshments, club stand, Heritage displays and model railway sales, and an Un-missable Raffle with many, many great prizes including train sets, locos, a dcc control set, many tickets for heritage preserved railways, shopping vouchers, books, DVD's and many more!
