Marcus 37
Never understood why BR didn't move the nameplates when locos were repainted RfD grey. They look really awful straddling the colour join. Quite agree about the look. I expect it was just down to the work involved to shift the plate. Probably quite time consuming. Remove plate, drill new holes, weld patches on the back of the old holes then add filler to the outside. Much easier just to reaffix in the same place. RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted March 10, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 10, 2017 I believe in a few instances nameplates have been found to be welded on rather than bolted and so have been left where they are as it was less hassle.

LaGrange
It had the '425' repeated on the front ends in the mid 1990's, except the 2 was bigger so it looked 425 https://www.flickr.com/photos/71592768@N08/21644562812/ http://www.railphotoarchive.org/rpc_zoom.php?PrevImg=0561020073000&aid=&InFrame=&_PAGE=
RMweb Premium brushman47544 Posted October 25, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 25, 2017 (edited) There's something about the construction sector logo that doesn't look right. It doesn't seem as imposing as the real thing. Is it too perhaps too small and is the gap to the sandbox filler to the left of the logo too wide? Compare with this image https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d8/Class_37_EE_Type_3_37-425_%27Sir_Robert_McAlpine%27_or_%27Concrete_Bob%27_9.00_to_Weymouth%2C_Bristol_Temple_Meads_3.7.1993_%289922498103%29.jpg. Or is it just me... Look's ok size-wise to me when comparing it to other body-side references. The blue does, however, look a bit bright, but that may just be the photo. I was thinking to get two and do 37688 Great Rocks... but the name / logo are opposite ends to 37425. and depending on what era you were thinking of modelling 37688, 37425 may not have the correct nose ends - i.e. 37688 under BR ownership had headboard brackets.
