Hi all

Another successful show was attended this weekend in Falkirk where the layout was frantically worked on the weeks before to bring it up to a better standard.  Some of the rolling stock was still tacky on Saturday afternoon from the weathering sessions the day before!

I'm happy to say the layout has now been professionally photographed for a magazine article which I'm looking forward to seeing.  In the meantime, here are a few quick photos taken at the falkirk show today:

The last two shots are some of my favourite as the original idea with the embankment and trees was to allow viewers to look through the tree which are at a good height and be able to watch the tops of the trains move by.

There is still plenty to do on the layout but an impending house move will put this on hold for several months.

I'll keep this topic updated with any progress when it happens.

Hi All

Nothing much has happened on the layout since the last posts due to a house move and busy period at work but I'm pleased to say it will be appearing in Hornby Magazine for the May edition which is due out on the 12th of April.  A quick snap of the preview below:

Hi All

I'm pleased to say that Ketton Cement features in this months Hornby Magazine in a kind of 'work in progress' state.

Here are a few of the excellent photos taken by Nigel Burkin for the article including a few which never made the magazine.  I post these here with Nigel's permission.

Hi Martin,

Good to meet, and chat about the layout at Ayr yesterday.  Have to agree with the other contributors here in that it looks so much better in the flesh.  Glad to see that you haven't mimicked the pollution of the original!

Regards,

Alex.

Hi All

Just a quick note to say Ketton Cement will make its final appearance at the FMRC show in Barrow in Furness on the 12th & 13th October.

A change in personal circumstances means the layout will unfortunately be broken up after the show and parts used on another layout in the future.  Building and exhibiting this layout has been a great learning experience which will help massively for future projects.

Details of the FMRC show can be found here:

Thanks

Martin

Hi all

Ketton Cement appeared at the FMRC show in Barrow last weekend which was its last ever show.  It's been on the exhibition circuit for 3 years now but I've already moved onto the next 2mm project and after that I will be moving up to 4mm!

The boards will be stripped of useful modelling and electronic bits before heading off to a new owner within the next few months.  I'll leave it up to him whether or not he publishes what he plans on doing with the boards.

Thanks

Martin
