With only one week to go (to setting up) it's time to start a thread for this years Expong.

website here

visit the website for details, or look at the entry in the forum's calender (thanks to Steve).

I'll be there as usual, trying to keep the tables and chairs in some sort of order..

This year we have use of the last two squash courts, which should make life easier in that area.

Hi Neil

I was going to be there helping Paul Martin with EDM Models but that's now cancelled - see below

Very much regret to advise everyone that Paul Martin is not well :icon_cry: and doesn't expect to recover sufficiently to be able to attend ExpoNG. He has emailed the organisers to cancel the EDM Models trade stand

Mail order is still available from http://www.ngtrains.com/ but it will be few days before he manages to crawl out of bed to deal with your orders.

(part time cash collector for EDM Models) :D

The official postcode for the venue is

BR8 7BT

The reason it isn't given on the poster or website is because it points to the building on the opposite side of the road to the actual venue, the White Oak Leisure Centre. So be warned, if you use a satnav to get there.

There will be signs pointing the way when you get near to it.

Wish Paul a speedy recovery, shame as I always enjoy a browse on the EDM stand at the smaller bits and pieces.

I'll be there with a rather depleted Golden Arrow stand, the casters having failed to make me any loco kits..

I'll also be without an assistant, as the offspring is off for a Halloween party, so if any RMwebbers fancy giving me a break, it will be much appreciated! See you all there!

An excellent show. Was almost tempted by a number of kits - and some individual trying to convince me that I should add another scale/gauge combination to my collection 7mmNG - not this year - not next - thank you ... but only because I have enough to do :D

Some very good layouts, but could have done with a few more but I guess just being NG limits the cast somewhat. All of a high standard.

A good day out and a number of new and old faces.

Thanks for the show guys.

The dioramas were entrants into the David Brewer Memorial Challenge, a tribute to the former chairman of the Greenwich & District Narrow Gauge Railway Society who passed away last year. The winner was Ole Bill Springs (OO9) by Robin Winter. The other entries pictured are Ike A. Costabuck (On30) by Martin Biswell and Chipping Clinker Locomotive Works (Gn15) by Mark Goodwin.

The David Lloyd trophy is judged by representatives of the OO9 Society, 7mm NGA and G&DNGRS and was awarded to Calstock (Cotehele) by Chris Peacock.

Thanks, Cornelius, for your correction; apologies for misreading the programme. I only identified the entrants who have (AFIK) RMweb accounts, too.

I regret I didn't get much of a chance to actually look round & enjoy the layouts, but my thanks to Simon & Dan for heroically stepping behind the stand & at least giving me a couple of comfort breaks! An excellent show, however, from what I did manage to see...

It's been a busy and tireing weekend, with ExpoNG on saturday and a slim gauge circle meeting on sunday.

Thanks to all those who turned up and helped make it another succesful show.I think everyone was impressed with the quality and variety of the entries to the challenge, and I didn't envy judge who had a difficult choice to make. And well done to Tom for winning the trophy with his excellent little layout.I shall try to post some pics tomorrow.
