The components are ready.....

The inspiration is there....

Let assembly begin

wagons roll!

PS

There's always one that gets bent the wrong way....? Have them all lined up the same way, twist, bend, angle and one ends up opposite to the others.....

The cut outs in the mounting plates are to clear the wheels of the wagon as they are three different types of wagons/spacing.

Construction begins

Me and soldering do not really get on.....

Two of the wagons have a short wheel base so to stop the plate hitting the axle I put a slight bend to it to give clearance

And fitted...

Leave overnight for all glues to set and paint tomorrow in black/grey

I expect many of you use this but I find one of these bending jigs very useful

Hi Kevin,

I agree re the soldering / fiddle. I know I'm deep in the minority but the above a useful reminder as to why I prefer Kadees! "Plug and Play" as I see it. Since no option is prototypical, the Kadees do work very reliably and have the advantage of being suited to smaller radii layouts like mine. I fitted out 10 wagons including adjustments in just part of one evening. My 8 year old grandson performed shunting, coupling / uncoupling with ease. I'll let others judge.

(Stands back waiting for the inevitable cries of outrage:sungum:)

Colin

Splendid effort - give those layabout loutish panniers something to do rather than hanging about getting into mischief.

We need to be able to use more than one emoticon at a time. I would have liked to annotate my response with a "laugh" (loutish panniers) and an "agree" (splendid effort) . I don't yet have a fully functional layout so I'm not in a position to comment on soldering, shunting or grandchildren (although I do have 7 of those), but I am in a position to acknowledge good modelling when I see it. Nice work and good progress, Kevin. :clapping:

A greenhouse and some plants

Now come on this is just not good enough. What do you mean 'some plants'. Please identify with Latin names so that we can make sure they have the correct number of petals.  :jester:

Through the station trundles an empty goods train, heading for the yard at Little Muddle.

What will it load?

I know not...….!

but onwards it goes to its destination

Please note in order not to confuse anybody further I have removed the brake van name off the sides.

Crossing the main line we branch off onto the branch line!

I removed the builders store from the corner of the layout so I could stand the camera there to get this angle
