One Sunday morning, before the service, he mentions to his verger that his bike has gone missing - no idea where it is. The verger suggest that if the vicar recites the 10 Commandments, when he gets to 'Thou shalt not steal' they can see if any member of the congregation blushes. None does, so that's that. Next Sunday, the vicar arrives on his bike. "Found it, then?" says the verger. "Well, yes. You see, when I got to 'Thou shalt not commit adultery' - I remembered where I'd left it!"

MrWolf
It has. You might need to trawl through some 1975 Railway Modellers, but it has. I imagine that you can buy a figure of a bloke having a leak from one supplier or another. 1
RMweb Gold Limpley Stoker Posted November 10, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 10, 2020 I’m loving these random shots- so many hitherto unexplored corners. I think the bicycle abandoned belongs to the courteous policeman who helped me when I was lost! 3 1

MrWolf
The figures look unusually convincing. Most I have seen are a bit vague on the details. My eye is also drawn to the damp and crumbly looking brickwork behind the figures and the colour of the setts in the foreground. How did you manage to achieve all that? 1 3
RMweb Gold Limpley Stoker Posted November 12, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 12, 2020 (edited) It appears the dodgy trader is getting a telling off from Mrs Bucket! How did you manage to achieve all that? Thanks A favourite answer of mine, its all down to posing the figures in a natural way that makes them seem more realistic. Brickwork - Scalescenes TX07 with a couple of coats of acrylic varnish used for paintings. Cobbles - Wills sheet cut and each cobbles individually painted different shades then varnished with the same stuff as mentioned above. Similar to road to Cathcott Field in picture below. MrWolf
Thanks for that, every day is a school day. The cobblestones are painted in 3d the same laborious but actually enjoyable way that I paint them in 2d. I think that there's a lot of skills that cross over from composition, forced perspective and painting techniques. The brickwork is interesting because it actually looks 3d and I presume its not?
Popular Post KNP
One of the 'foreign' wagons is nearly finished. LMS cattle wagon Compared with my two GWR ones it gives a nice contrast S&W couplings to do. Bit more weathering to do especially the lower edges. Transfers would be nice but once again the Parkside ones are for a BR version....! Have masses of GWR ones but nothing for the LMS POW Sides do some nice reasonably priced ones so I think that is the route to go. Still plan to do the third Coopercraft one and then that should do...for now...I think....well...maybe....! Edited March 26 by KNP 30 1

Popular Post KNP
I never store or leave either of the boats in the harbour just in case I knock them when going through the door. So quite often, when i take a picture, there is nothing alongside and its only after I take the picture and look at the end result and think - should've put something there, I realise not always but sometimes. It looks a bit........open! Now playing with the idea of an old rowing boat alongside the steps in a semi derelict condition, I also think there should more waste in the corner as if washed in by the tide and trapped there!
