KNP
Actually, I was up there pointing the chimney, when this photo opportunity arose. The only thing is I'm still up there as no one has told me what direction to point the chimney!!!! (old builders joke....!) 1 2

You got down off the roof then I see. Its a good job that hot air balloon was passing otherwise you'd never have got these excellant aerial shots. Just make certain the squadron leader doesnt s mistake it for a barrage balloon and take a pot shot at it.
Popular Post KNP
I used and made the first sign from Ollie this morning and thought, you know what, I’ll post how I did it just in case it’s useful. One to use Then using what I call a tick strip which is where I measure the size needed on a piece a card using a sharp pencil. I find this, at this scale, so much more accurate than measuring. It is then transferred to the actual card to be used, in this case one of my old business cards as they are good quality When measured hole cut out to that dimension Next step is to pre paint When dry carefully glue to the sign with Roket card glue Now the tricky bit that needs careful cutting with a sharp blade Edges now painted in the black and ready for fixing. 10 2

Crichel Down
Aha! So the secret is out; Kevin is/was a 'civil' (i.e. civil engineer). I wonder if you knew Peter Tatlow, Kevin? He was with Mouchel. Long since retired and living in Hampshire. He started his career as a bridge engineer on the Southern Region, and while at Mouchel's did a lot of work on ground anchors. He is an expert on the Highland Railway (as is his son Mark). Peter is also a prolific railway author.

Popular Post KNP
Here one of our Train spotting friends caught 6697 passing through the Encombe Town station. RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted November 30, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 30, 2021 I’m sure I retained Mouchel for general project management consultancy work that had little to do with civils or building works, more fitting-out a Control. But that was 20 years ago…. 1
Crichel Down
It has been obvious throughout this thread that Kevin knows exactly how buildings are put together, and his professional knowledge has clearly informed the construction of his model buildings. They are an object lesson for model-makers - accurately observed and correctly detailed. (Mark Tatlow, whom I mentioned earlier, is also a building surveyor. So is, or was before retirement, Chris Lamacraft, among others. Building surveyors are well represented among the ranks of railway modellers.) 5 1
