I take it that he is a sole trader.

Heel refer to this as his special plaice.

An older building laced with exposed breams but not doubt built to last.

Those shops capture the old world charm of the 30s with nothing to spoil the illusion. The facades wouldn’t look out of place at  Flambards ( thank goodness I took my family in the 80s before it became too popular! ) . By the way, those jokes about the Britannia shop were a load of cobblers.

Bodmin Parkway has a very steep drop to the west of the station throat, the tracks ( although on a bend too) just seem to drop off the edge.

Maybe a slight change of the backscene, with a suitably planted gradient post, could indicate a similar situation?

So I got the old large guards van out, stuck a lamp on the end - no bracket.

There she sit unless in picture.

This picture quickly staged with the Pannier and some vans

What about some cards, exactly the size of the aperture under the bridge, that you paint with different trompe l'oeil effects and drop in behind the bridge depending on the effect you want and the angle of the photo?

For example, you could paint a bit more track disappearing off in perspective then a smaller brake van end to suggest it's further away, with maybe a wisp of steam from the loco further up ahead.

and another Cooper Craft cattle wagon was already in stock.

They're obviously Pygmy cattle, bred specially in the wild reaches of Oxfordshire for the exclusive use of the Colonel.

It's not called Little Muddle for nothing...
