This has always been my mantra too.

This and take a pause before saying done. I always find that when you revisit a piece of work after leaving it for a while, you can be way more objective, honest and more inclined to change it or scrap it. As you now have less emotional feelings towards it.

Agree

One of my favourite phases used many times on here is

Park and come back another day with fresh eyes

I think that this is one of the stand-out things I have learned from your posts. I have always had the mindset that it has to be done right first time, but your willingness to re-visit and revise has been a revelation to me. Now all I have to do is change the habit of a lifetime!

Who am I?

Who are you?

Do I exist or is this just a fantasy world constructed by some feverish mind in order to bring order to hypothetical existence that is in fact just a figment of someone else's imagination.

I hesitate to tick "Agree" or "Like" , let alone "interesting/Thought Provoking".

The issue is, can you sort it out without resorting to the "hand in the sky"????

No, as the front two Panniers are static ones….!

My Grandson has been with us today and he has been ‘playing trains’.

When he left a few moments ago he told me had sorted out the layout…….

No wonder the Station Master has been pulling his hair out!

Normal services will resume once I sort this out

Looks like one of those shunting puzzles that used to appear in Model Railroader in the 1980's (crumbs was it that long ago!)

Excellent attempt at getting the yard full.

At that rate, I reckon your grandson could get the fellas to unload the crate as well :-)

Finally managed to get through all 446 pages (to date)! I am not sure whether to be inspired or to despair that I could never emulate the skill and artistry displayed here. Serious question - is it possible to learn how to do all these things or do you have to have an inate talent to excel at this level?

Welcome to RMWeb and Little Muddle @Nevermakeit

Its certainly possible to learn the skills, with time and patience, knowing that it’s taken all of us an age to build our models.

Inevitably, some things don’t work straight away…. Sometimes they will end up in the “spares box” as you attempt the second kit!

Good luck.

Lovely shot @KNP Although I wonder if cattle trains would have run on a Saturday in the 1930’s as there would be no markets until Monday.

Saturday was market day in Norwich in the 1950s, I can remember as a child vast numbers of cattle being herded through the streets down to Trowse station to be loaded on the trains. I assume it had always been Saturday.
