Popular Post KNP Posted December 12, 2021 Author Popular Post Share Posted December 12, 2021 (edited) Yesterday I removed the Town station canopy for a clean and thought what view would I get if I stood the camera on the platform and looked down the line. General view Then I swung the camera to look down the side of auto coach, got some surprising good reflections off the coach windows.....adds depth. First thing to do on Affinity Monochrome but with the red turned down one section to sharpen and yellow up one notch to bring out the white. Smoke brush used with a slight grey setting to add funnel smoke, your choice but I have scores of smoke/fog brushes to choose from. Start with a snow overlay, here I have used three overlays of light snow but size changed slightly by increasing or decreasing the overlay size to give a distance and mixed feel to it. Contrast pulled back one section to give that slight misty feel you get when looking through snow. To further enhance, to me that is, use inner glow effect to filter edge so it looses its sharpness. For some reason, more than any of my other 'winter' scenes this looks and feels cold not just a B/W picture with snow. I think what worked here was turning the contrast down to get that misty effect and using multi layers of snow which makes it look more random. Will be trying that again....one day.
