47035 - did any locos exist in Bachmann's livery?

Hi, I'm shortly going to receive a Bachmann 47035. Now this is the one with the pseudo-domino headcode box (basically played over but painted black) with no high intensity headlight. Any of you experts able to offer some advice as to what my options for this model - I want a nice non-descript banger blue duff suitable for the early 80s - is there a simple renumber I can carry out to make this model more accurate? Bonus points if likely to be seen around the WR / marches. I don't really want to go to the hassle of replacing the headcode boxes for a 'proper' domino if I can help it...

Huge thanks to anyone that can advise!

Ps I'm well aware of the other bits that need sorting, namely the 57 style undergubbins and bogies!

quite a few of the Scottish depots have previous for painting headcode panels black but that was perhaps on later liveries than BR Blue. In photos its not always obvious whether its the domino behind glass or headcode painted black. e.g.

The plated ones look to have a slightly more off-white dots compared to the dominos but pre headlight 47 is probably 1984 or earlier so it'll probably take a bit of hunting through pictures

47101 at Cardiff looks possible

Hi Steve.

Be careful which prototype you choose to model, as 035 has the original round Spanner boiler port. Some a little later on were plated over. I'm currently renumbering a 2mm 035 model for a customer to 47304. Spot on for early 80s, black box and no headlight, but I have filled the boiler port and it will be plated over. None of the 47/3s had boilers fitted from new, but the roof design must of remained the same as they still look to be plated over.

47101 & 559 Round boiler port (Spanner Mk.III) so easy fill. 229 had the square plated over boiler port (Clayton Mk.II)

Now, if this was for a 2mm model, I have some lovely etches for the plated over boiler ports

Cheers, Anthony

Thanks guys. Chard - that picture has he high intensity headlight....which Bachmann haven't modellled! Anthony, goodnpoint about the boiler port. I won't get get the model for another week or so to really examine it, hence trying to collate some info first! I had guessed this wouldn't be quite as simple as I'd hoped

Oh...and this time it's the the 4mm version I'm doing!

Are these available to buy?

I am intending on doing 47335 from 47035 using the Farish model.

Cheers
