Well i'm new to this site DLT and you've just caught me putting the finishing touches and everything back in place as it once was, so it's not that i'm making loads of new stuff, i'm just getting the old stuff and the half built stuff back out and finished off and sharing it with you.  There's a lot more to come yet i'm afraid to say to bore you all with :sorry:  and i got reminded of another half finished building the other day when something fell down the back of the wardrobe and i then noticed another long forgotten half finished building sat up on top of it,   :swoon: and as phil' says its always raining in Lanc's so when it is dry..... it's all hands to the pumps in headless Chicken mode.  :heat:  :crazy_mini:  ;)

Here are the last of my major buildings. The working incline winding house is based on a charity shop find and was a kids remote control 1/6 scale dune buggy type car bought for £2.75p, the original 12v. motor and battery box are left as found but the rest was swapped over for a combined receiver/control module from Timpdon Electronics, the body work of the car was fully removed as was one back wheel, i then built the building around what was left of the chassis floor pan. The tyre was removed from the one remaining wheel, this wheel rim is now to used as the winding drum. An extra battery box is fitted to work three lights inside and outside of the winding house. The traction engine was a kids toy which was kindly given to me by NM, and after a bit of painting and weathering free nameplates were found and taken off a plastic Box of 10 knife blades...hence the name Stanley! He helps shunt the wagons around the coal yard when needed.

The other buildings may be recognisable if you are a fan of a certain 1960's cult TV show....these have been a good few years in the making and as you can see i have a lot to do yet! Both will be joined together as one unit and used as the Coal mine & Railways owners house and private station/halt.

Once more outstanding Bob! No 6's house is spot on - we stayed in a cottage right next to it at Portmerion a few years ago. It had been an ice cream parlour I think, but was closed and devoid of occupancy.

Well, my final large concrete slab has gone down today and so the main building work is nearing completion. After slabbing, planting some more trees and building a lady full-sized shed, because I now have a man-cave), I shall start my track bed. Your canal basin has inspired a major change of plan ( I was originally going to attempt a sort of estuary in pond size) and will save much agonising over layout, heights and construction. Thank you and please forgive any plagiarism you may detect in the next several months when I start my thread......It will still never look as good as yours!

Thanks Mike, you are a lucky man to have spent time in the 'Village' its one of my life's ambitions to stay in any cottage there and wake up in the morning throw back the curtains in the morning and exclaim..."Where am I" ......and get swmbo to answer ..."In the Village!"  :smile_mini2: I was lucky as a kid to be visiting the place when they were filming the series and even got a pat on the the head from No;6 himself :sungum: i've been a fan ever since. I think the shop was empty again last Autumn, i think the rent must be too high on the place! If anything i do here Mike inspires and helps others then that makes me an happy Man, and most of what i do is only inspired by help and info' from others. ;)  Great to hear you are progressing with your line, have you any pics' of the construction work Mike?

I will take photos once I start in earnest! At the moment it is just a rough trail amongst rubble and a new flower bed I am building at what will be one end of the dog bone shaped continuous circuit. Huge weeds have already taken over the other end, despite pouring diesel on the area last year. Oh well. Not long now.

I know i'm getting old and slow Ossy....so i must be nearly catching up with you :tease: and to be honest real life stuff keeps getting in the way :punish: Anyway having said that, here is the station building all painted up over the long weekend and well weathered, it can finally stay outside! I'll make and get a few more detailing bits to add to it in time. :)

Brilliant, just brilliant.

Love the winding house and the Portmeirion buildings, but the nameplate for the traction engine is a touch of re-cycling genius!

Finished station building is stunning; the wear and weathering perfectly observed and executed as ever.

Many thanks NM and Edwardian, i think a bike rack will look good in the corner near the fire bucket and a few packing crates and milk churns will help fill it up, i'll also get some enamel signs to stick on the fences and building. :)

To make sense of the top coal yard i dug out a few plants and a much needed barrow full of soil to create a larger area and turning circle for my coal wagon and the traction engine. I'll get four big blocks to make the base which i'll then top off with a 18" square patio flag. I actually hit the old lines engine shed area when i dug it out so its a solid ready made footing.

Another lovely day weather wise, so i got stuck in this afternoon and laid the four blocks and the 18" square patio flag to extend the top coal yard.

A simple mold was made from plastic card to make some buttresses to cover the new viaducts joints. A 'V' shaped indent was made into the back of the mold so they will fit to the outer viaduct sections that are set in on the curve. I'll need Ten altogether! So just Nine more to go! I've had to cut the stone block effect/mortar lines in using a old hacksaw blade before it fully set.

Very smart, and yet another nail in the coffin for my line staying ground level - definitely going to elevate once I've had some running this Spring after the horrible winter layoff.

"A simple mold" ? :nono: I think not - very clever design solution for the curved viaduct.

   Hi bob

yes I agree[as you posted on my thread ] you should post a track plan and include any immediate enlargements in progress. It gives an idea of what you are trying to achieve    phil

Cheers Phil' i'll try this week to doodle a rough plan and post it! :mail:  Just been out for some supplies (Sand & Cement)and found this toy fire truck in the local charity shop for two quid!  Those who know me well will tell you that is the kind of thing i do all the time.  The number of useful bits it will supply is endless, horns, ladder and girder work, checker plate and working bulbs. It's a shame to break it up! It seems to be almost the right scale, so i'll keep the wheels and chassis intact to make another '40's - 50's era type wagon  :senile:
