4D Modelshop in London

http://modelshop.co.uk/Shop?searchText=Tree

Search 'tree' and then you use the drop downs to select size and it shows the prices. These were 60-120mm so £8-£11

I pop in when I'm in London and bought these a while back. Not cheap but I prefer them to the ones I've seen at shows since the previous war gaming ones I used ceased trading.

Full setup of finished boards with the demo one in the background.

Still lots to do on weathering and scenics but it gives an idea of the look.

I like the pictures, especially the first on with the complete layout. It looks great another lovely layout to add to your portfolio, is it x6 your upto now (Lulworth, Hartz, Trams, US narrow gauge, Biscuit factory and this L and B). Trust that you had a great day and were fed lots of cake.

Looks great. I'm very tempted to start a modular 009 layout along the same lines as space is at a premium at home. I had the idea of having generic scenery boards that could be used as a backdrop for nearly any module.

I like this a lot.  My own evolving version of the Minehead and Lynmouth Light Railway is using ex-WD Baldwins (at least until Heljan get their act together) - probably not too unrealistic a scenario as if it had been built it might not have been opened until after WW1 when there were plenty of these on the market.

On the 'departing from reality' issue, I would love to build the (unbuilt) terminus at Lynmouth located near the Torrs Hotel, but to do the scenery justice would need a colossal amount of space,  A more realistic prospect may be the real location of County Gate (a windswept piece of moorland, crossing a country road, rather different from the famous one modeled), Culbone Stables (a picturesque and enclosed woodland location) or Porlock (a very olde worlde village) or the Minehead habourside and pier terminus.   So many possibilities...

I’ve started work on Town Quay which will provide us with the sheds and alternative junction at the Wimborne show. The back of the sheds will be open so cassettes can be used to swap rakes of coaches over fast.

What a thoroughly engaging thread, and a lovely layout. I may have the 009 bug.

The Modular concept works really well here, and it's given me an idea perhaps for my father and I to build separate termini and be able to connect them when we get together at either of our houses.

Thanks for sharing. The photos in particular are nice and bright and clear.

Best

Scott
