You're welcome Neil. It's in fact better in the flesh than the photos. It has a tranquil and sleepy atmosphere about it!

What about the layout?

Which reminds me, I must find something suitably implausible to slip on when your attention is diverted....

Tim was telling me about these vans earlier. Lovely job converting them from HO to 00 gents and then the subsequent weathering.

Who would have thought that a pair of Italian vans would turn up in North Wales of all places! Quiet extraordinary!

Best wishes,

Nick.

Here's the original picture which has vanished from the original 'FS van in Herefordshire' thread which was the inspiration.

This time a pannier has got it's hands on the Italian van:

Is the van H0? If so, perhaps bigger wheels would raise both the roof and buffer heights and make it look more at home.

The rebuilt height of the van was matched to normal '00' vans by adding depth to the sides and extending the 'T' shaped strapping. The body width should have been widened but the work involved (+1.5mm) would've been prohibitive! The buffer beams were replaced to give the correct buffer spacing. I think that I fitted new suitable Lanarkshire buffers.
