Keep swithering on buying a Roco CD one, but the livery isn’t the one I’d particularly choose....

Much rather have a red and white one as the stripy livery is a bit new for me.

Yes I was same, planned to wait for another (earlier) livery release. However no regrets and will probably get the next release as well !!

I was going to buy a MTB one in the correct livery then I read a review that picked great holes in it (although to me it looked OK), but they really rated the Roco model, so guess I’d better order one before they sell out.

Stay safe,

Neil

PS : is a French layout coming next?

Hi Tim,

New to the Forum so am slowly reading through the Continental threads. I model France and Spain in N and am embarking on Italian and Spanish in HO but I like most things Continental so I just wanted to say that I think your layout is fantastic with lovely scenery/ rolling stock and very inspirational as a build.

A very enjoyable Sunday read. Great stuff.

Cheers Chris (weave)

Another infrequent update on my layout. A few months back I updated my DCC system from the Lenz 100 to the Roco Z21. No real issues setting up although for some reason I had to re-program all the DCC concepts point motors as it would not recognise them. I also decided to stick with the Lenz hand held controller as it offers better low speed control than the phone app. So I use the iPad for route setting which also changes the signal once the points have moved - much easier than setting each individually.

I had another delivery of bespoke transfers from Martin Model, including company logos for the woodyard, speed boards, Slovak vehicle registration plates and also 3D printed parts for a class 771 suspension.

The car number plates are in the current EU style and even have the correct local 'SV' area prefix. The Škoda is an Igra kit.

Speed restriction transfers were fixed to a square of plasticard and a handrail wire post

Wood Yard company logo in place

My Čmelák has officially become a class 771 despite being numbered as one for quite sometime. The new suspension parts were printed for the Piko model but were easily adapted to fit my Roco model.

Finally a view of the fleet. I still need a 742 and the newer class 757 'Goggle' rebuild.

Forgot to mention I really like the Z21 Route Setting as well, I'm using it on the Belgian depot layout and very tempted to retro-fit it to the Czech layout in due course (if I ever re-wire it).

Stay safe,

Neil

I believe the Z21 by default numbers accessory addresses differently to other systems, (adds 4 to the address?), but this can be changed in the Z21 setup. At our club, a modular layout is being built by our junior members. It had been set up using a Merg DCC Command Station, but when another member tried his Z21, points further along the layout were changing instead of the ones he wanted to change.

I can confirm it does add 4 for some reason.

No idea why....

Thanks,

Neil

Ah, I didnt know this. Luckily I only have 9 points and I just re-assigned them from 01-09 to 501-509 and it was fine..

Like the uncoupling. Is it on board or a magnet in the track?

It's kadees and hidden, fixed magnets. Although sometimes it's sleight of edit in the clips..

I recently received some ZSR ballast wagons from a model shop in Bratislava made by Albert Modell of Hungary. I got two of each of a 'Faccpp' hopper and a 'Ua' side tipper. I already have some of their 'Eas' wagons and they are highly detailed models.

However I cannot run them out of the box as you need sunglasses! So with much care I have dismantled the two hoppers for weathering.

Here is a photo of the weathered 'Faccpp' hoppers with removable load added. I need to do the tippers next...

I couldn't resist this latest release from Piko. I do like these locos which are now in their twilight years with ZSSK. Sadly at Stakčín we are a little way off any overheads and quite some way from the AC overheads🙃
