Y_Rail
Hi all, I finished recently a locomotive project. I had an SP E9A from Walthers turned into an ATSF E8m. The shell was disassembled and detail parts removed, paint was also removed (i wish i had undecorated shell). Various changes / mods were made such as removing the dynamic brake fan, adding / removing / relocating grab irons, mods to rooftop cooling pipes, antennas etc... in order to get to the specs of an E8m as it was in service in the mid to late sixties. On top of scratchbuilt details, parts from Plano, Details West and BLMA were used. The model was primed with Gunze's surface primers in black and grey. Metallic colors by AK and Alclad, other colors by Gunze and Tamiya, while clear coats were by Tamiya and Winsor & Newton. Decals came from a Microscale set for F and E units. Weathering was done in layers using oils / enamels and salt weathering. I hope you like it and thanks in advance for your time.
CraigZ
Well dang. That's really nice. The warning light is a nice touch too.
Y_Rail
Thanks Craig! I tried to improve the plain single headlight.
